About the role:

Raft is looking for a strategic and innovative Head of Product Marketing to lead the go-to-market strategy and positioning of our cutting-edge solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and federal government sectors. This role is pivotal in connecting our technical expertise with customer needs, driving product adoption, and empowering decision-makers at the tactical edge. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a deep understanding of product marketing, a passion for technology, and a strong track record in creating compelling narratives that drive business growth.

  • Product Positioning & Messaging:
    • Develop and execute clear, differentiated product positioning and messaging that aligns with Raft’s mission and values.
    • Craft compelling value propositions that resonate with defense, government, and enterprise audiences.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate technical capabilities into customer-centric benefits.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy
    • Define and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new and existing products, ensuring seamless product launches.
    • Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams to build integrated campaigns that drive pipeline growth and customer acquisition.
    • Enable sales teams with high-impact collateral, playbooks, and training to articulate Raft’s value effectively.
  • Market Research & Insights
    • Conduct market research to deeply understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends.
    • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring product and marketing strategies address real-world challenges.
    • Identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Content Development
    • Lead the creation of product-focused content, including white papers, case studies, product demos, videos, and presentations.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop thought leadership content that elevates Raft’s reputation in the defense and government sectors.
    • Drive the creation of product-focused campaigns that highlight Raft’s technical and operational capabilities.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Foster collaboration between product, growth, delivery and marketing teams to ensure alignment on business objectives.
    • Represent product marketing in leadership discussions, providing insights and recommendations to drive business outcomes.
  • Performance Measurement
    • Define KPIs for product marketing initiatives and track performance to ensure goals are met.
    • Provide regular reporting and insights on the impact of product marketing activities to the executive team.
    • Continuously optimize strategies based on data-driven insights and market feedback.

What we are looking for: 

  • Experience & Skills
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
    • Experience: 10+ years of experience in product marketing, with a strong preference for experience in defense, government, or enterprise technologysectors.
    • Proven success in launching and scaling products in complex, highly regulated markets.
    • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into impactful narratives.
    • Strong understanding of data-driven marketing and analytics.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute effectively at a tactical level.
    • Passion for empowering operators and solving complex challenges through technology.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Familiarity with CRM tools, marketing automation platforms, and analytics software.
    • Understanding of data, AI/ML, and DDIL solutions is a significant advantage.

Work Type:

  • Remote
  • May require up to 50% travel

Salary Range:

  • $170,000 - $190,000
  • The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
