Director of MICE

The Director of MICE leads sales, strategy, and operations for corporate events, focusing on driving revenue, building client relationships, and managing teams to deliver high-quality events. This role coordinates with sales, marketing, and operations to achieve goals and represents the company at industry events. Key responsibilities include developing MICE strategies, managing budgets, overseeing event execution, handling key accounts, and reporting on sales performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Sales Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies for the MICE segment, set booking goals, and drive revenue generation for meetings, incentives, and events.
  • Team Management: Lead, train, and motivate MICE sales, events, and operations teams, ensuring high service standards and smooth execution.
  • Client & Partner Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Event Oversight: Manage the end-to-end process, from initial proposal and contract to seamless event delivery, coordinating with back-of-house and sales teams, booking flights, accommodations, and ground transportation for all MICE events.
  • Travel Logistics: Oversee travel arrangements for attendees, ensuring timely bookings, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and expense management for the MICE division, ensuring profitability.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with marketing on campaigns, assist with sales collateral, and represent the brand at trade shows and networking events.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales and management within hospitality, luxury travel, or events.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the MICE market and industry networks.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting.
  • Familiarity with travel booking platforms and vendor management is a plus.
