Senior Solutions Engineer

Position Overview

RapidFort is seeking a highly technical Senior Solutions Engineer to accelerate our growth across enterprise and regulated industry segments in the United States. In this role, you will serve as the technical bridge between RapidFort’s Software Supply Chain Security platform and customer environments, helping organizations reduce vulnerabilities, harden containerized workloads, and minimize attack surface without requiring code changes.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native infrastructure, container security, and modern DevSecOps practices. You will partner closely with security leaders, platform engineering teams, DevOps organizations, and executive stakeholders across industries including Department of Defense (DoD), federal agencies, financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with consultative sales skills and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where adaptability, ownership, and execution are critical.


Your Impact

Technical Discovery & Solution Design

  • Partner with Account Executives to uncover customer pain points, infrastructure challenges, security gaps, and compliance requirements

  • Design and deliver customized technical demonstrations showcasing RapidFort’s capabilities around vulnerability remediation, attack surface reduction, and software supply chain security

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with platform engineering, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams

  • Architect and guide customer proof-of-concept deployments within Kubernetes and containerized environments

Product Expertise & Customer Education

  • Deliver compelling technical presentations on RapidFort’s DevTime Protection Tools, Near-Zero CVE Images, and Runtime Protection capabilities

  • Guide customers through hands-on evaluations and implementation best practices within their cloud-native environments

  • Educate customers on container security, image hardening, vulnerability management, and software supply chain risk reduction

  • Clearly articulate both technical and business value, including accelerated compliance readiness and operational risk reduction

Kubernetes, Docker & Cloud-Native Expertise

  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads and Docker-based applications during customer engagements

  • Review and advise customers on Dockerfiles, Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, CI/CD pipelines, and container build workflows

  • Help customers implement container security best practices across build, deployment, and runtime environments

  • Support customers operating Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, and Rancher

Sales Methodology & Deal Progression

  • Apply structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC to qualify opportunities and advance complex technical sales cycles

  • Build credibility with technical decision-makers, security architects, platform engineers, and executive leadership

  • Translate technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes and ROI

Security & Compliance Consulting

  • Advise customers on vulnerability management strategies, software supply chain security, SBOMs, container hardening, and compliance frameworks including FedRAMP, CMMC, SOC 2, CIS, and STIG

  • Position RapidFort as a strategic security platform that accelerates compliance while reducing operational overhead and developer friction

  • Stay current on evolving cloud-native security threats, CVE trends, and competitive positioning within the software supply chain security market

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide product feedback based on customer conversations to help shape RapidFort’s roadmap

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to improve customer outcomes and accelerate adoption

  • Assist in creating technical content, solution architectures, and enablement materials


What You Bring

Technical Foundation

  • 7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related customer-facing infrastructure/security roles

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments

  • Deep understanding of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native architectures

  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting workloads across Kubernetes clusters

  • Strong knowledge of Docker image creation, optimization, multi-stage builds, and container lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, RBAC, ingress, observability, and deployment patterns

  • Experience with Helm, Terraform, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD workflows

  • Understanding of software supply chain security concepts including SBOMs, image signing, provenance, and vulnerability scanning

  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud

  • Strong Linux systems knowledge and comfort with Bash scripting and infrastructure troubleshooting

Security & DevSecOps Experience

  • Understanding of container security challenges, CVE remediation workflows, and hardened container image strategies

  • Familiarity with modern cloud-native security tooling such as Trivy, Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Aqua, Sysdig, Falco, or similar platforms

  • Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments preferred

Sales & Communication Skills

  • Demonstrated success supporting complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple technical and business stakeholders

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable leading technical workshops, architecture discussions, and live product demonstrations

Startup Mindset

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments with evolving priorities and limited structure

  • Comfortable balancing strategic customer engagement with hands-on technical execution

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of independently driving customer evaluations and technical outcomes

  • Strong sense of ownership and urgency


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise Kubernetes environments at scale

  • Background in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, or platform engineering

  • Experience working with enterprise security teams or regulated industries

  • Familiarity with software supply chain security standards and frameworks

  • Prior startup experience strongly preferred

Compensation

Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000 base salary plus variable compensation and equity opportunity.
