Sr AI Engineer

About the position
The Senior AI Engineer / Architect role is focused on translating client and project requirements into scalable, reliable, ease of use microservices cloud-based applications, with a focus on workflow automation and document processing. The role requires a deep understanding of modern architectures and agile delivery methodologies.

What will you be doing?

● Design and build a completely new architecture for an automated document processing and OCR capability (using Abbyy) within a custom enterprise Transportation Management Solution (TMS)

● Collaborate as a key member of our scrum team to translate requirements into scalable, reliable cloud-based applications.
● Design, write, test, document, and deploy robust code using React and .NET.
● Build reusable code, libraries, and backend APIs, optimizing for speed and scalability.
● Design and implement data storage solutions using SQL.
● Leverage your expertise in Docker, Azure or Google Cloud, and Kubernetes for containerization and cloud infrastructure management.
● Support and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI).
● Lead design and architecture discussions and agile sprint team ceremonies, understanding microservices principles.
● Work side-by-side with our clients, and the rest of the team, to contribute to the product vision and explore/propose new technologies.

What we need:

● 7-10+ years of professional software development experience.

● Experience in automating workflows using RPA or OCR.
● Experience in Intelligent Document Processing using AI-focused software solutions
● Experience using and training LLM’s to enhance productivity and increase efficiency of both technical and business processes and teams
● Experience using Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable agentic AI and integrate with a variety of tools
● Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in:
○ 5+ years of hands on experience with .NET Core
○ 3+ years of hands on experience with React
● Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Azure or Google Cloud services are essential.
● Experience with SQL Server is preferred.
● Solid understanding of building and consuming REST APIs and microservices architecture.
● Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
● Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
● Passion for mentoring and team leadership.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of proficiency in English.
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
