Position: User Experience Designer
User Experience Designer (Mexico)
The User Experience Designer role is primarily tasked with supporting our
US-based clients and working with a large project team in delivering impactful solutions
for our clients. This role focuses on understanding the human side of automation,
specifically document processing within custom enterprise Transportation Management
Systems (TMS).
You will play a pivotal role in a technical project team implementing an Intelligent
Document Processing (IDP) solution. By studying user behaviors and current manual
workflows, you will provide the insights necessary to design improved processes that
leverage Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automate as much as possible. As a
nearshore team member, you will be expected to work in alignment with US time zones
and collaborate virtually with the team and client stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
● Define comprehensive research goals and select appropriate qualitative and
quantitative methods to investigate complex business processes.
● Lead the recruitment of participants and conduct user interviews, contextual
inquiries, and usability testing to understand current manual document
processing workflows.
● Analyze user behavior to identify pain points, motivations, and opportunities for
efficiency gains through the implementation of document processing and OCR
technology.
● Collaborate closely with the UX Designer and technical leads to translate
research findings into actionable insights, creating personas, user journey maps,
and future-state service blueprints.
● Research and benchmark industry best practices regarding automated document
processing and OCR to ensure client solutions are best-in-class.
● Present findings and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders and the
engineering team to influence the design of automated workflows.
● Conduct validation testing on proposed automated solutions to ensure they meet
user needs and deliver quantifiable efficiency improvements.
● Develop and maintain research documentation and contribute to the overall
project reporting structure.
● Support in the development of executive level presentations / deliverables in
Google Slides that adhere to Metafora brand standards.
● Adapt to remote collaboration tools and communication methods to align with the
US-based team.
How you’ll do it:
● Own It: This is our company, and its success is our success. Every day we act as
owners, leaders, and role models to grow the organization collectively and our
capabilities individually.
● Relationships First: Authentic human connections are make-or-break in this
industry. The heart of our success as a firm is built on the relationships with one
another and our clients.
● Excellence Always: Mediocrity is not an option. We set high standards for
ourselves, and the people with whom we work. We expect excellence and
guarantee satisfaction with our work.
● Think Big: We challenge ourselves to stretch and shape each other’s thinking to
deliver lasting change and true value.
● Learn & Teach: Building and sharing knowledge is our superpower. We develop
ourselves, learn from others, and generously share what we know.
What we need:
● Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology,
Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
● 3-7 years of professional experience in User Experience Research, preferably
within a consulting, enterprise software, or logistics environment.
● Proficiency in visual collaboration and design tools such as Miro, Visio, and
Figma to map workflows and present insights.
● Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or Google Suite
(Sheets, Slides, Docs) for data analysis and presentation.
● Basic working knowledge of SQL or the ability to learn to perform data analysis.
● Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention
to detail.
