What this role is about:
RapidSOS is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect who is excited to dig into a technical challenge and develop an optimized solution that will contribute to building the life-saving technology that protects 170M+ lives annually. You will play a major role in the technical sales process, working with B2B customers to lead technical and product sales conversations, translate their requirements into a solution, and define its scope. You will build as well as advise, creating demos, proofs of concept, and integrations, and guiding clients on how to use RapidSOS’s APIs and other products. You’ll excel in this role if you have a solutions mindset, are AI-forward in how you work and build, thrive in a highly visible, customer-facing role, and are self-motivated with a low ego.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the technical engagement with customers during the pre-sales process by building and presenting product demos to help showcase product functionalities, creating pilot and proof-of concept implementations, and more
  • Design the solution by turning details from discovery into a clear technical approach, from the APIs to the integrations that connect RapidSOS to emergency response workflows and a customer’s products
  • Build and deliver customized technical presentations and demonstrations to clients and prospects
  • Partner with Account Executives to assist in developing account strategies, planning and execution, articulating RapidSOS’s value proposition and vision, and building a relationship with clients as a trusted advisor
  • Create documentation and specifications that support technical sales and translate customer requirements into solutions for Product and Engineering, including SOWs
  • Assess scope, feasibility, and technical risk, and work through overcoming challenges alongside customers and internal teams to find the best path forward
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Public Safety to connect what customers need with what we build and deliver
  • Lead with AI and keep learning, using it to build, prototype, and solve problems faster for customers and across the team while deepening your knowledge of RapidSOS’s products and the market

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, including 3+ in a technical customer-facing capacity, ideally in implementation engineering, post-sales engineering, and/or sales engineering
  • Experience with complex API-based or SaaS products, whether in presales (technical discovery, presenting demos) or in post-sales / implementation engineering
  • Proficient programming ability in any language (Python, Go, Javascript / Typescript, etc.), with Python preferred
  • Familiarity with deploying solutions, through either cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) or containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ability to work directly with clients and translate what they need into clear technical solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to engineers and executives alike and to build trusted customer relationships that move deals forward
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving instincts and an innovative streak, who takes ownership of ambiguous challenges and turns them into solutions customers trust and the team stands behind
  • An understanding and flexibility in working at a high-growth environment where priorities can shift quickly
  • Hands-on experience building with AI tools, with an AI-forward mindset that shows up in how you prototype, solve problems, and look for better ways to work
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Nice-to-have experience (but not required!):

  • Experience with telecommunications

What we offer:

  • The chance to work with a passionate team on solving one of the largest challenges globally
  • Competitive salary and benefits and equity participation
  • A dynamic, flexible and fun start-up work environment with a highly talented team
