About the Role

The Senior Accounting Manager will manage the quote-to-cash accounting operations in the U.S. for Raptor Technologies. This will include leadership and management of a 7 person team.

This position requires travel of about 2 weeks per year (to Houston).

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Own the U.S. Revenue Accounting function (from quote-to-cash / Q2C) and assist with other general accounting functions that lead up to month-end close (recon, AR, AP, consolidations, etc)
  • Evaluate and continually improve revenue lifecycle operations, including but not limited to operationalizing sales contracts, sales order creation, pricing, booking, billing, receiving payments, revenue recognition, tracking, renewals, etc
  • Work closely with the Sales Operations Manager to ensure sales contracts are interpreted accurately and subsequent software and hardware revenues are recorded correctly
  • Oversee all collections activities, including the development and implementation of efficient collections strategies to reduce outstanding receivables and decrease DSO
  • Work with the finance team to ensure that collections align with the company's revenue recognition policies
  • Track and report on key metrics (DSO, recovery rates, ARR, churn, etc); analysis and some forecasting as needed
  • Participate in annual audits and other periodic audits
  • Other relevant duties and projects, as needed

 

Management Responsibilities:

  • Establish a world-class culture: Develop and maintain organization of responsibility and accountability, ensuring effective training, coaching, recognition, and workflow patterns
  • Establish a cadence of routine 1:1s with individual team members (ideally, weekly); involves delegating and making needed scope and priority adjustments
  • Ensure proper work coverage and division of responsibilities within the team; ensure clear process and procedure guidelines are established that align with the desired results for the department 
  • Establish clear performance standards and KPIs; arrange appropriate outcomes for members of the team based on those standards 
  • Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews as well as compensation, promotional and disciplinary conversations 
  • Manage other employee relations activities such as effective conflict resolution; engages HR as needed 
  • In partnership with HR, makes final decisions regarding hiring and other employment decisions 

  

Qualifications:

  • Active CPA is highly preferred
  • At least 10 years of increasing experience and responsibility in the accounting function and 5+ with revenue recognition (ASC 606 expertise required)
  • 5+ years of experience in collections within a SaaS, subscription-based, or technology-focused company
  • Strong understanding of SaaS billing models, subscription payments, and revenue recognition
  • Proven experience managing accounts receivable, collections processes, and customer negotiations
  • Experience leading a team of at least 3 people but still willing to jump in and be hands-on if the team needs it
  • Strong experience with an ERP system; Netsuite preferred
  • Ability/desire to work Central time zone business hours is required (to collaborate with both the US and UK team)
  • Some Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Some M&A experience is preferred
