Senior People Business Partner

The Opportunity

At rater8, we are building an AI-powered healthcare reputation management platform. As our Senior People Business Partner, you will be a strategic and hands-on partner to managers and directors across the organization, while supporting VP- level leaders as needed in partnership with the VP, People.

This role is central to strengthening manager effectiveness, supporting organizational health, and executing core People programs that help the business scale. You will coach leaders through day-to-day people challenges, support performance and employee relations matters, help drive company-wide people processes, and identify practical ways to improve how the People function works.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with execution, building trusted relationships, and helping leaders and teams perform at a high level.

What you’ll do

Manager Coaching & Leadership Enablement

  • Serve as a trusted People partner to managers and directors across the organization.
  • Coach leaders on performance management, feedback, team effectiveness, accountability, employee development, and day-to-day leadership challenges.
  • Support newly promoted and developing managers through practical coaching and just-in-time guidance.
  • Help build manager capability by designing, delivering, and reinforcing training and tools that improve leadership effectiveness.

Strategic Advisory & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Partner with managers and directors to align people priorities with business goals and team needs.
  • Provide practical, data-informed guidance on workforce planning, role clarity, promotions, internal mobility, team structure, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support leaders through organizational change, including manager transitions, team evolution, and other people-related changes.
  • Use people data and business context to identify trends, surface risks, and recommend practical solutions.

Talent Management & People Programs

  • Lead and support recurring people programs, including performance reviews, talent planning, compensation planning support, engagement follow-up, and manager enablement efforts.
  • Partner with the VP, People, to execute company-wide People initiatives that improve leadership capability, employee experience, and organizational health.
  • Help ensure consistency and accountability across key People processes and manager practices.

Employee Relations & Organizational Health

  • Manage employee relations matters with empathy, professionalism, sound judgment, and legal awareness.
  • Partner with leaders to address sensitive employee issues fairly, thoughtfully, and in a timely manner.
  • Use engagement data, feedback trends, and exit insights to identify opportunities to improve retention, morale, and team effectiveness.
  • Help leaders turn organizational insights into clear, actionable plans.

AI Enablement for People

  • Serve as an AI champion within the People function by identifying, testing, and scaling practical AI-supported workflows.
  • Partner with the VP, People, to improve productivity and effectiveness across HR processes through thoughtful use of AI tools and automation.
  • Help introduce managers and employees to practical AI-enabled ways of working where appropriate.
  • Evaluate opportunities for AI to improve People workflows, such as documentation, manager support, onboarding, and internal process efficiency.

Other Duties as Assigned

What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related People function, including at least 3 years in a dedicated HRBP or People Business Partner role.
  • Experience supporting managers and directors in a fast-paced SaaS, technology, or high-growth environment.
  • Strong coaching capability and comfort advising leaders on team effectiveness, performance, employee relations, and organizational change.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Experience running or supporting core people programs such as performance reviews, talent planning, compensation planning, engagement follow-up, and manager enablement.
  • Strong judgment in employee relations matters and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Comfort using People systems and data to identify trends, guide decisions, and improve outcomes.
  • AI Proficiency & Enablement: Proven experience integrating Generative AI (e.g., Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT) into HR workflows to improve efficiency in drafting role profiles, performance feedback, and internal communications.
  • Technological Adaptability: An "early adopter" mindset with the ability to coach managers on role-specific AI prompts and repeatable workflows, helping teams bridge the gap from "basic awareness" to "advanced daily usage.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong business judgment, and the ability to build trust across a range of stakeholders.
  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and the ability to operate independently in a high-impact individual contributor role.
  • US Residents only. Must reside in the continental U.S., be authorized to work without sponsorship, and not reside in California.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting distributed or fully remote teams.
  • Experience with tools such as Lattice, Greenhouse, Rippling, or similar People systems.
  • Experience designing or delivering manager training, leadership enablement, or manager onboarding support.

Compensation 

The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and years of relevant experience. In addition to the base salary, this role offers a bonus opportunity. Bonus compensation will depend on individual performance and company performance.
