Razorpay was founded by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur in 2014. Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India.
The Role :
We're seeking an exceptional design leader to manage and guide a team of talented multidisciplinary designers in one of the fastest growing tech startups of the nation to drive it towards becoming the best design team in the industry.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage the team and the work
- Own a team of multi-disciplinary designers consisting of product designers, visual designers, visual communication designers and researchers.
- Along with the design leads, manage various design projects and their priorities. Help the team in resolving blockers. Ensure the output meets business goals, deadlines and the quality bar.
Shape up product direction and drive design-led projects
- Take part in ideation, planning and prioritization of our diverse range of products & features keeping the short and long-term goals of the organization in mind.
- Find out new directions that we can take in our quest to make payments and finance easy and accessible to all.
- Strategise, prioritize and drive design-led projects. Also, help to extend the existing design systems and build new ones.
Mentor, Guide and Lead the Team
- You will be responsible for the growth of the team. Help them grow their soft and hard skills. Help them define their career paths, identify opportunities and level up to do the best work of their lives.
Raise the Bar
- You will set the bar high. You know what quality looks like and how to help product teams ship at that quality with minimal impact on velocity.
Drive and improve the design process
- Iterate upon and improve the design processes to introduce the best practices within the team. Bring in users to the center of the process and encourage design decisions to be backed by user-behavior and data.
- Create frameworks and guidelines for the team to deliver better and faster.
- Conduct design reviews and status meetings. Facilitate design sprints, workshops, brainstorming sessions.
- Prioritize research and design improvement opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Share engineering principles to guide the team from an engineering point of view.
