Senior Instructional Designer

Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). 

The Role:

The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, learner-centric educational materials for internal and external stakeholders. This role will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure learning objectives are met through various modalities, such as eLearning, instructor-led training, blended learning solutions, and other interactive materials. This role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles and tools, project management, and the ability to translate complex topics into effective learning experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Design & Development:
    • Design and develop learning solutions that align with business goals and meet the needs of the target audience.
    • Create engaging, interactive, and scalable learning materials, including eLearning courses, instructor-led training (ILT) content, job aids, and microlearning assets.
    • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to design effective learning interventions.
    • Ensure that content addresses different learning styles and incorporates multimedia elements (videos, infographics, quizzes, simulations).
  2. Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs):
    • Partner with SMEs across different functions to gather content and insights for developing effective training programs.
    • Lead content review meetings with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and alignment with learning objectives.
    • Adapt technical or complex content into easily digestible and engaging learning experiences.
  3. Project Management:
    • Manage instructional design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
    • Collaborate with other team members, including developers, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists, to deliver cohesive learning solutions.
    • Track progress on learning initiatives, providing regular updates to stakeholders and making adjustments as necessary.
  4. Learning Technology & Tools:
    • Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) to create engaging eLearning modules.
    • Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS) to deliver, track, and assess the impact of learning initiatives.
    • Stay current on emerging learning technologies and recommend innovative approaches to enhance learner engagement.
  5. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Measure the effectiveness of learning programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and data analytics.
    • Use learner feedback and performance data to iterate and improve learning content continuously.
    • Recommend improvements to instructional methods and materials based on feedback and learner outcomes.
  6. Content Standardization & Branding:
    • Ensure that all learning materials are consistent with organizational standards and branding guidelines.
    • Develop templates and frameworks for reusable learning content.

Qualification & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a corporate or technical training environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
    • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing software (Adobe Suite, Camtasia, etc.)
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning analytics tools.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to design content for a diverse audience, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality content
