Associate Director - Strategy
Razorpay was founded by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur in 2014. Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India.
The Role:
As a leader in the Strategy team, you will play a pivotal role in influencing strategic decisions for the company. You will be part of a high-performing team and will get an opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and work with various internal stakeholders to achieve Razorpay’s longer-term goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with founders & CXOs of the firm to solve strategic org problems, Partner with BU heads and senior leaders to understand their strategic choices or problem areas, For high priority problem statements, work with leadership and stakeholders to define the problem scope, create a plan and set key deliverables and timelines, Conduct outside-in market and competitive analysis to develop key insights, Define strategic choices and provide fact-based solution recommendations, Develop long-term, end-to-end perspective, and demonstrate the ability to proactively identify strategic opportunities,Identify new initiatives and new businesses that Razorpay could expand into - Identification of growth opportunities & their prioritization, Market entry strategy to PMF in the 0 to 1 phase (GTM), Creating a scale-up plan to evolve it into a new business unit, Lead a high performing team, mentor, and give direction towards career development, Play the Operator role for crucial high-stakes projects and transition to requisite teams in the build-operate-transfer model.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- MBA degree from a premier business school in India/abroad
- 7+ years of experience in a top consulting firm (Engagement Manager/ Manager/ Project Leader) or in a corporate strategy role
- Strong understanding of Fintech/Payments/Neo-banking industry
- Enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be comfortable with some degree of ambiguity in the absence of perfect information.
- Ability to connect with people across teams and levels
- Strong & structured problem-solving skills in an ambiguous and unstructured environment
- Ability to wear multiple hats to zoom in & out of problems
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport with senior leaders/CXOs
- Hands-on analytical experience in previous organizations
- Strong bias-for-action
- Previous experience in Tier 1 Consulting(MBB)/CEO’s office/Chief of Staff/Corporate Strategy roles
