Associate Director Product Management

Razorpay was founded by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur in 2014. Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India. 

We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). 

The Role:


Associate Directors at Razorpay are expected to own and deliver on one or more critical OKRs for the organization. They can achieve this through a combination of customer research, problem identification, product strategy development, solution analysis and process optimization, all delivered by their own team and other stakeholders such as our leadership, strategy, research and design teams.

Considering that this team will play an important role in shaping India’s digital future, a person in this role would have to deal with considerable ambiguity, and overcome that to arrive at data-driven decision frameworks and product roadmaps, accompanied by both short-term and long-term views on processes and people needed to achieve the assigned OKRs. 

Therefore, the role requires a combination of leadership qualities, people management, ability to define and execute upon a vision, deep product skills, and stakeholder management to deliver on Razorpay’s ambitions to be the most sought-after fintech partner across our markets.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Own Customer Problems: Define and drive a plan for market research (from a customer/user viewpoint), set up data funnels relevant to ones OKRs (incl. seeking baseline data and setting milestones towards quarterly and annual goals), meet with customers regularly to understand their pain points and user goals to develop a deep empathy of the problem domain.
  • Product Strategy: Define long term strategy, develop quarterly roadmaps and groom ongoing backlogs to ensure the products deliver measurable outcomes, leading to solving for real customer problems. Mentor the team to ensure a data- and experiment-driven product culture, and run data-based reviews within and outside the team frequently
  • Build Products: Mentor team members to ensure they product high-quality product specifications (clear user stories, unambiguous business validations, pragmatic acceptance criteria) and help them prioritize and manage the scope of each product launch to deliver key capabilities on time. Help them with effective product communications to internal and external stakeholders, and resolve conflicting priorities

  • You are entrepreneurial and have hunger and impatience to see things through
  • You understand technology, and love customer-first & business-first thinking
  • You are curious about metrics, execution processes, macro trends
  • You have an analytical and data-driven approach in day-to-day work. Energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Past experience as a founder would be an added advantage
  • Prior experience in leading PM teams would be an advantage
  • Prior experience in building consumer products would be an advantage
