Staff Software Development Engineer
Razorpay was founded by Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur in 2014. Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India.
The Role:
As a Staff Engineer in Razorpay's Developer Productivity team, you will build platforms that enhance developer experience and productivity across the company by standardizing engineering workflows and leveraging AI capabilities. This role demands deep-expertise with strong opinions on how we should ship. You should be able to see nuances and elements that others might not. The ideal candidate should be able to drive org-wide change through execution and influence. As part of the senior engineering group you will be influencing the culture of the company and help it shape in the right way
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Architect and scale world-class developer platforms that help us build and ship faster
- Define and evangelize engineering best practices through systems that enforce standardization, reduce friction and improve developer experience
- Accelerate execution not just for engineering but also product managers and designers by integrating AI-driven tooling into our day to day workflows.
- Lead and collaborate with senior engineers and leadership across teams to define and execute the org-wide technical strategy.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical growth and leadership development.
- Represent Razorpay in developer-first forums and events, driving thought leadership and industry engagement.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems and internet-scale products.
- Deep expertise in multiple programming languages and tech stacks, capable of writing maintainable, scalable, and testable code.
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams to deliver complex projects successfully.
- Strong technical leadership, with the ability to drive architectural decisions and influence engineering culture.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on high-performance computing, scalability, and resilience.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of influencing across teams and leadership levels.
- Self-driven and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments with minimal guidance.
- Passionate about open source, with contributions to projects or personal side projects on GitHub.
