Senior Consultant - Product Strategy

Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. What started as a B2B payments company is processing billions of dollars of payments for lakhs of businesses across India.
We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital).
The Role
Senior Consultants at Razorpay are expected to identify and solve critical problems around 1- 2 key focus areas. They can achieve this through a combination of driving special projects, program management & stakeholder management within the organization.
- Own Customer Problems: Define and drive a plan for market research (from a customer/user viewpoint), set up data funnels relevant to ones OKRs (incl. seeking baseline data and setting milestones towards quarterly and annual goals), meet with customers regularly to understand their pain points and user goals to develop a deep empathy of the problem domain
- Product Strategy: Define long-term strategy to drive quarterly roadmaps and prioritize ongoing backlogs to ensure the products deliver measurable outcomes, leading to solving real customer problems. Mentor the team to ensure a data- and experiment-driven product culture, and run data-based reviews within and outside the team frequently
Customer-Centric Problem Solving
- Define and drive market research from a customer/user perspective.
- Set up data funnels aligned with OKRs, including baselining and defining milestones towards quarterly and annual goals.
- Engage directly with customers to develop deep empathy, understand pain points, and identify areas for product and service improvement.
Product & Business Strategy
- Define and execute long-term strategy to drive quarterly roadmaps and prioritize backlogs, ensuring measurable customer impact.
- Mentor teams to foster a data-driven, experiment-led product culture.
- Conduct data-based performance reviews within and outside the team to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with product leaders to define and execute long-term and short-term organizational vision.
- Champion a customer/merchant journey-based culture to enhance success metrics.
- Set and drive annual & quarterly targets and OKRs within the product team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Business teams to improve efficiency and execution.
Innovation & Process Excellence
- Identify and proactively drive new initiatives to enhance customer success and business performance.
- Design and execute structural solutions and experiments to address key business challenges.
- Pilot new initiatives, ensure effective implementation, and scale successful solutions across the organization.
Mandatory Qualification:
- 7+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, chief of staff roles, or similar high-impact problem-solving positions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills in ambiguous and unstructured environments.
- Strong product sense and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to zoom in and out of problems, balancing strategic thinking with execution excellence.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management across functions and hierarchies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to engage with senior leadership/CXOs and drive strategic initiatives.
- Hands-on analytical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bias for action, demonstrating ownership and execution-driven mindset.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach with a strong work ethic.
