Director, Operations - SCM

Razorpay is building a new-age digital banking hub (Neobank) for businesses in India with the mission is to enable frictionless banking and payments experiences for businesses of all shapes and sizes. We are a full-stack financial services organisation, committed to helping Indian businesses with comprehensive and innovative payment and business banking solutions built over robust technology to address the entire length and breadth of the payment and banking journey for any business. Over the past year, we've disbursed loans worth millions of dollars in loans to thousands of businesses. In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). 

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving operational excellence, managing complex supply chains, optimizing vendor relationships, and delivering strategic initiatives to ensure smooth business operations. This leadership role requires an individual who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage field engineers, vendors, and partners, and lead continuous improvement efforts across all supply chain and operations areas, including materials management, logistics, procurement, and device distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Direction: Provide leadership and strategic direction to Supply Chain Operations, including the management of Key Injection facilities, Materials Management, Warehouse operations, Procurement, Vendor Management, Inventory Management, and Logistics/Distribution of POS machines.
  • Field Service Operations: Oversee the management of a business vertical of 600+ employees, including field engineers across India. Ensure efficient deployment, break-fix management, device pick-up/de-installation, and proactive customer visits to merchants.
  • OEM & Partner Management: Lead OEM management for devices and accessories. Work closely with R&D, Product, and Engineering teams to roll out new devices and accessories for merchants/customers. Build strong relationships with key OEM partners for continuous engagement and product development.
  • Bank Relationship Management: Manage and cultivate strategic relationships with bank partners. Address escalations, provide strategic initiatives, and drive value creation through these relationships.
  • SCM Strategies & Network Optimization: Develop and execute strategies for SCM and field service operations, including network modeling/remodeling to optimize supply chain resilience. Drive channel and network optimization to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain and service delivery.
  • Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Roll out strategic SCM initiatives that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across all functions. Ensure business operations are aligned with agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build and nurture strong teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Lead by example and ensure the team maintains high levels of customer and employee satisfaction.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in global organizations in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Project Management, Business Transformation, Change Leadership, and related fields.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in managing supply chain operations in industries such as Fintech, Medical Products, Telecom, Vision Care, and Consumer Banking.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills: Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing large, cross-functional teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex operational challenges and deliver results.
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to develop and maintain robust relationships across different cultures, teams, and environments. Ability to build strong partnerships with vendors, OEMs, and bank partners.
  • SCM & Operational Expertise: In-depth knowledge of materials management, procurement, logistics, inventory management, vendor management, and field service operations.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA or relevant post-graduate degree is a plus.
