Senior Product Manager
Razorpay is one of India’s leading full-stack financial technology companies, powering the way businesses move, manage, and grow money. Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar with a simple vision — to simplify payments for Indian businesses — we’ve since grown into a fintech powerhouse driving India’s digital payment revolution.
Razorpay powers millions of businesses with a smarter, scalable stack that goes beyond transactions to help them truly build and grow.
From seamless checkouts to payroll automation, across India, Singapore, and Malaysia, we’ve been engineering a fintech ecosystem that’s redefining how money moves across Asia — and we’re just getting started.
Today, that ecosystem supports everyone from early-stage startups to some of India’s largest enterprises, enabling them to accept, process, and disburse payments at scale while expanding into new ways of managing money more efficiently.
Our scale speaks volumes: Razorpay processes $180+ billion in annualized transactions, powering leading businesses like Airbnb, Facebook, WhatsApp, Airtel, CRED, BookmyShow, Zomato, Swiggy, Lenskart, Mirae Asset Capital markets, Indian Oil, National Pension Scheme — and over 100 of India’s unicorns. With strong roots in India and growing operations in Southeast Asia, we are shaping the next chapter of financial technology across the region.
We are backed by global investors including GIC, Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Tiger Global, Ribbit Capital, Matrix Partners, MasterCard, and Salesforce Ventures, having raised over $740 million to date. Strategic acquisitions — including Ezetap (POS and offline payments), Curlec (Malaysia expansion), BillMe (digital invoicing), and POP (rewards-first UPI) — along with earlier moves in fraud prevention, payroll, and lending, have further strengthened our platform and widened our footprint across Asia.
But what truly sets Razorpay apart is our culture. At Razorpay, ownership is our oxygen — you own what you build, with no micromanagement or red tape, just the runway to make your ideas fly. Learning is a lifestyle — if you’re curious, you’ll feel at home here. People > Pedigree — we hire for attitude, hustle, and hunger more than degrees. Transparency thrives over titles — this is where interns question CXOs and CXOs say “thank you.” Guided by our values of Customer First, Autonomy & Ownership, Agility with Integrity, Transparency, Challenging the status quo and a strong belief that Razorpay grows with Razors, you’ll be part of a 3000+ strong team building not just products, but the financial infrastructure of the future.
Role Summary
The Payment Platform Group is the infrastructure backbone of Razorpay — powering every payment, settlement, reconciliation, and risk decision across our merchant network, including cross-border and international transactions. As a Senior Product Manager within this group, you will own the evolution of platform capabilities that are foundational to Razorpay's reliability, efficiency, and growth at scale. This is not a consumer product role. You will be building the systems, APIs, and intelligence layers that thousands of merchants and billions of transactions depend on. The mandate is clear: make the platform faster, smarter, and more resilient — and increasingly, that means architecting for an AI-native future, where payments infrastructure is not just reactive but predictive, self-healing, and continuously optimising.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency, a systems-thinking mindset, and the ability to incorporate AI not as a feature add-on, but as a foundational design principle — shaping how the platform monitors itself, handles exceptions, and enables intelligent payment experiences at scale. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, risk, compliance, and merchant experience, with full ownership of outcomes. Our product culture is built on three pillars: customer-centricity, end-to-end ownership, and bold decision-making. We hold our PMs to a high bar — define the problem precisely, back it with data, and drive to outcomes. We celebrate intelligent risk-taking and treat every failure as a learning opportunity that makes the system stronger.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Platform Strategy & AI-Native Vision: Define and own the roadmap for your platform domain. Identify where AI can be embedded into the platform's core architecture. Translate this vision into a prioritised, outcome-driven execution plan aligned to Razorpay's business objectives across domestic and international markets.
- AI-Informed Product Development: Champion AI-native thinking in platform design. This means building systems that learn from transaction patterns, flag exceptions before they escalate, and reduce manual intervention in critical payment workflows. Work with engineering to define the right architectural choices that make the platform AI-ready — not as a future aspiration, but as a current engineering standard.
- Technical Leadership: Collaborate deeply with engineering to architect scalable, decomposed platform services. Own the translation of complex technical and business requirements into crisp, actionable specifications. Manage cross-system dependencies and ensure platform changes do not compromise stability, SLA commitments, or merchant experience across any geography or payment method.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary interface between your pod and internal stakeholders — engineering, finance, compliance, risk, and merchant-facing product teams. Drive alignment across functions and ensure platform priorities reflect both business impact and operational SLA commitments.
- Problem Definition & Conceptualisation: Approach every initiative with a problem-first, data-driven lens. Ensure solutions are designed for the platform's long-term architecture, not just immediate feature delivery. Establish robust feedback loops — through operational metrics, merchant signals, and system telemetry — that allow the platform to continuously improve.
- Operational Readiness & Internal Enablement: Ensure platform capabilities are production-ready, well-documented, and adoptable by internal teams. Define rollout strategies, deprecation plans, and internal SLAs. For merchant-facing surfaces, collaborate with GTM stakeholders to drive adoption and communicate platform changes effectively.
You will be a strong fit if:
- You have experience managing platform, API, or infrastructure products — and understand what it means to own a system other teams depend on
- You have a working understanding of AI/ML concepts and can make informed product decisions about where intelligence belongs in a platform architecture — without necessarily building the models yourself
- You think in systems, not features — and naturally ask "what breaks downstream if we change this?"
- You are comfortable operating across markets and understand the nuances of multi-currency, cross-border payment infrastructure
- You are analytical and metrics-driven; you set clear success criteria before building, not after
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can move fast without sacrificing rigour
- You have strong stakeholder instincts — you know how to align without consensus-seeking
- You have 5–8 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a platform, fintech, or infrastructure context
