AI Evangelist

Bengaluru

Razorpay is one of India’s leading full-stack financial technology companies, powering the way businesses move, manage, and grow money. Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar with a simple vision — to simplify payments for Indian businesses — we’ve since grown into a fintech powerhouse driving India’s digital payment revolution.

Razorpay powers millions of businesses with a smarter, scalable stack that goes beyond transactions to help them truly build and grow.

From seamless checkouts to payroll automation, across India, Singapore, and Malaysia, we’ve been engineering a fintech ecosystem that’s redefining how money moves across Asia — and we’re just getting started.

Today, that ecosystem supports everyone from early-stage startups to some of India’s largest enterprises, enabling them to accept, process, and disburse payments at scale while expanding into new ways of managing money more efficiently.

Our scale speaks volumes: Razorpay processes $180+ billion in annualized transactions, powering leading businesses like Airbnb, Facebook, WhatsApp, Airtel, CRED, BookmyShow, Zomato, Swiggy, Lenskart, Mirae Asset Capital markets, Indian Oil, National Pension Scheme — and over 100 of India’s unicorns. With strong roots in India and growing operations in Southeast Asia, we are shaping the next chapter of financial technology across the region.

We are backed by global investors including GIC, Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Tiger Global, Ribbit Capital, Matrix Partners, MasterCard, and Salesforce Ventures, having raised over $740 million to date. Strategic acquisitions — including Ezetap (POS and offline payments), Curlec (Malaysia expansion), BillMe (digital invoicing), and POP (rewards-first UPI) — along with earlier moves in fraud prevention, payroll, and lending, have further strengthened our platform and widened our footprint across Asia.

But what truly sets Razorpay apart is our culture. At Razorpay, ownership is our oxygen — you own what you build, with no micromanagement or red tape, just the runway to make your ideas fly. Learning is a lifestyle — if you’re curious, you’ll feel at home here. People > Pedigree — we hire for attitude, hustle, and hunger more than degrees. Transparency thrives over titles — this is where interns question CXOs and CXOs say “thank you.” Guided by our values of Customer First, Autonomy & Ownership, Agility with Integrity, Transparency, Challenging the status quo and a strong belief that Razorpay grows with Razors,  you’ll be part of a 3000+ strong team building not just products, but the financial infrastructure of the future.

About the Role

Razorpay is looking for an AI Evangelist who sits at the intersection of deep technology and compelling storytelling. This is not a traditional marketing role. You will go deep into engineering, understand how things work under the hood, and then translate that complexity into stories, demos, prototypes, and content that engineers and the broader tech community actually care about.

You will be the face and voice of Razorpay Engineering to the outside world. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, build working prototypes that showcase our tech, write blogs that people share and talk about, produce video content that stands out, and represent Razorpay at conferences and meetups. Your work directly shapes how the industry sees Razorpay as an engineering brand.

What You Will Do

  • Build prototypes and demos that bring Razorpay’s engineering work to life. You will not ship production code, but you will write real code to create compelling proof-of-concepts that show what our tech can do
  • Write technical blogs, deep-dives, and case studies that explain complex engineering decisions in a way that is clear, engaging, and worth reading. No fluff, no corporate speak
  • Produce and edit video content: interviews with engineers, technical walkthroughs, event recaps, short-form content for social media. You are comfortable in front of a camera and behind the editing timeline
  • Organize and host tech events, both internal (engineering all-hands, tech talks, hackathons) and external (meetups, conferences, community get-togethers). You own the format, the content, and the experience
  • Speak at industry events and conferences. You represent Razorpay’s engineering story on stage with clarity and conviction
  • Build and maintain Razorpay Engineering’s presence on social media. You engage with the developer community, share insights, and grow our reach on platforms like X, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Work closely with engineering teams to identify great stories worth telling. You sit in design reviews, understand the architecture decisions being made, and turn those into content that resonates

What We Are Looking For

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in a role that combines technical depth with external communication. Could be a Tech Evangelist, Technical Marketing Engineer, Developer Advocate, or a Product Manager with a strong content and community track record
  • Hands-on technical skills. You can read code, spin up prototypes, and have meaningful conversations with engineers about system design, APIs, and infrastructure. You do not need to be a full-time developer, but you need to go deep enough to be credible
  • Exceptional writing skills. You can take a complex technical topic and turn it into a blog post, case study, or thread that people actually want to read
  • Strong public speaking ability. You are comfortable presenting to 50 people at a meetup or 500 at a conference. You hold a room and make technical content accessible
  • Solid video production and editing skills. You can plan, shoot, and edit video content end-to-end. You understand pacing, storytelling in video format, and platform-specific best practices
  • An active social media presence. You already engage with the tech community online and have a feel for what content resonates with engineers and builders
  • Event management experience. You have organized tech events, community meetups, or hackathons before and know what makes them work
  • Strong sense of storytelling. You can take raw technical detail and weave it into a narrative that is compelling, honest, and worth someone’s time

Why This Role Matters

  • Razorpay is building some of the most interesting tech in India’s payments and fintech space. The engineering work is strong, but we have not told that story well enough. This role changes that
  • You will define and build Razorpay’s engineering brand from the ground up. The playbook does not exist yet. You write it
  • Direct access to leadership and engineering teams. No layers of approval. You identify a great story, you go tell it
  • You will shape how top engineering talent perceives Razorpay. The content you create and the events you run directly influence who wants to come work here
  • This is a high-visibility role. Your work will be seen by the broader tech ecosystem in India and beyond
Razorpay believes in and follows an equal employment opportunity policy that doesn't discriminate on gender, religion, sexual orientation, colour, nationality, age, etc. We welcome interests and applications from all groups and communities across the globe.
