About Razorpay

Razorpay is one of India’s leading full-stack financial technology companies, powering the way businesses move, manage, and grow money. Founded in 2014 by Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar with a simple vision - to simplify payments for Indian businesses - we’ve since grown into a fintech powerhouse driving India’s digital payment revolution.

Razorpay powers millions of businesses with a smarter, scalable stack that goes beyond transactions to help them truly build and grow.

From building AI-native agentic payments, to AI-assisted fraud detection and real-time risk intelligence to automated reconciliation, smart payouts, and predictive financial insights, we are embedding intelligence across our stack to make money movement faster, safer, and more efficient. In close collaboration with ecosystem partners - including banks, networks, regulators - we are pioneering industry-first solutions that are shaping the next era of fintech

Across India, Singapore and Malaysia, our products span everything from seamless checkouts to payroll automation - powering a fintech ecosystem that’s redefining how money moves across Asia.

Today, that ecosystem supports everyone from early-stage startups to some of India’s largest enterprises, enabling them to accept, process, and disburse payments at scale while expanding into new ways of managing money more efficiently.

Our scale speaks volumes: Razorpay processes $180+ billion in annualized transactions, powering leading businesses like Airbnb, Facebook, WhatsApp, Airtel, CRED, BookmyShow, Zomato, Swiggy, Lenskart, Mirae Asset Capital markets, Indian Oil, National Pension Scheme - and over 100 of India’s unicorns. With strong roots in India and growing operations in Southeast Asia, we are shaping the next chapter of financial technology across the region.

We are backed by global investors including GIC, Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Tiger Global, Ribbit Capital, Matrix Partners, MasterCard, and Salesforce Ventures, having raised over $740 million to date. Strategic acquisitions - including Ezetap (POS and offline payments), Curlec (Malaysia expansion), BillMe (digital invoicing), and POP (rewards-first UPI) - along with earlier moves in fraud prevention, payroll, and lending, have further strengthened our platform and widened our footprint across Asia.

But what truly sets Razorpay apart is our culture. At Razorpay, ownership is our oxygen - you own what you build, with no micromanagement or red tape, just the runway to make your ideas fly. Learning is a lifestyle - if you’re curious, you’ll feel at home here. People > Pedigree - we hire for attitude, hustle, and hunger more than degrees. Transparency thrives over titles - this is where interns question CXOs and CXOs say “thank you.” Guided by our values of Customer First, Autonomy & Ownership, Agility with Integrity, Transparency, Challenging the status quo and a strong belief that Razorpay grows with Razors,  you’ll be part of a 3000+ strong team building not just products, but the financial infrastructure of the future.

About the Role :

  1. Zero-to-One Product Building
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Razorpay’s SEA payments stack — from discovery and scoping all the way through launch and iteration.
  • Identify and validate local payment methods, regulatory requirements, and merchant pain points that differ materially from India — and translate those into product requirements.
  • Make fast, high-quality decisions with incomplete information; ship MVPs, instrument them, learn, and iterate at startup speed.
  • Balance scrappiness in the short term with architectural discipline for the long term — build features that work across Malaysia, Singapore, and beyond, not just in one region.
  1. Go-to-Market Ownership
  • You are not handing off to Sales. You own the GTM narrative, the positioning, the launch sequencing, and the feedback loop from market to product.
  • Partner with BD, Sales, and Marketing to design merchant onboarding journeys, pricing structures, and segment-specific value propositions.
  • Define and track product-led growth metrics — activation rates, integration success rates, time-to-first-transaction — and own the conversion funnel end-to-end.
  • Represent Razorpay at merchant conversations, industry events, and fintech forums across the SEA region.
  1. Merchant Intelligence & Insight Generation
  • Be relentlessly in the field. Run merchant interviews, shadow integrations, sit in on support escalations — build a ground-up picture of what’s broken and what’s working.
  • Synthesise qualitative merchant signals with quantitative funnel data to produce insights that actually change roadmap priorities.
  • Build a structured merchant advisory loop: a network of anchor merchants across verticals who you can call, test with, and learn from on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively surface competitive intelligence — know what Stripe, 2C2P, PayMongo, and local incumbents are doing before the business team does.
  1. Scalable, Principled Systems Thinking
  • Design for the region, not just one market. Every feature, API contract, and integration pattern you spec should be extensible globally.
  • Work closely with platform and infrastructure teams in India to ensure SEA builds are first-class citizens of the Razorpay architecture — not bolted-on exceptions.
  • Maintain clear documentation of product decisions, market-specific exceptions, and the reasoning behind trade-offs, so future team members can build on your work confidently.
  1. AI-Native Product Development
  • Use AI tools — including coding assistants like Claude Code and Cursor — to move 10x faster: write and review SQL queries, prototype lightweight internal tools, automate spec generation, and stress-test your own PRDs.
  • Embed AI-first thinking into the products you build: identify where LLMs, ML models, or intelligent automation can leapfrog legacy fintech approaches in SEA.
  • Champion a culture of AI fluency in the SEA team — set the example that PMs who can code (even a little) and leverage AI tools are the baseline, not the exception.

What we are looking for :

Non-negotiables

  • 6–9 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
  • Prior zero-to-one or 0→1 experience — you have launched a product or entered a market from scratch, not just grown an existing one.
  • Be based in Singapore (must already hold a valid right to work — EP / PR / citizen; Razorpay does not sponsor visas in Singapore) or Kuala Lumpur, or willing to relocate. This is an in-person role, with 100% work from office/ customer site.
  • Deep familiarity with the SEA payments landscape: local wallets, real-time payment rails (e.g. PayNow, DuitNow, PromptPay), acquiring ecosystems, and regulatory environments.
  • Extraordinary written and verbal communication — you write PRDs, data decks, and merchant emails that are equally crisp and compelling.

Strong signals

  • You have worked at a high-growth startup or payments company in SEA (Grab Financial, Xendit, GoTo, Stripe, Nium, Adyen, or similar).
  • You have a working knowledge of API design, SQL, or scripting — and you actively use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or equivalent) to accelerate your work.
  • You have personally closed or heavily influenced a major merchant partnership or enterprise deal, not just supported one.
  • You have managed a cross-functional squad across time zones, working closely with engineers and designers based in a different country.
  • You have experience with payment gateway / aggregator products: checkout flows, settlement, reconciliation, dispute management, or acquiring.

Mindset markers

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and write your own brief. You do not wait for a roadmap to arrive in your inbox.
  • You have a bias for action: prototype first, ask for permission later (within reason).
  • You are merchant-obsessed in a practical way — you get on calls, ride-alongs, and WhatsApp groups to understand what’s really happening.
  • You are comfortable being the only PM in the room — and excited about it.
Razorpay believes in and follows an equal employment opportunity policy that doesn't discriminate on gender, religion, sexual orientation, colour, nationality, age, etc. We welcome interests and applications from all groups and communities across the globe.
