Job Title: Experienced Tumbling Coach
Location: Rowland Ballard - Atascocita / Caliber Cheer
Position Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $20-$22/hr (Based on experience and qualifications)
Job Summary:
Rowland Ballard and Caliber Cheer is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tumbling Coach to join our dynamic coaching staff. The ideal candidate must have experience coaching and spotting advanced tumbling skills, with a focus on running tumbling (Round Off Back Handspring series) and standing tumbling (up to a Standing Back Tuck). This coach will work with athletes of various levels and ages in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
Cheer Schedule:
Monday: 5:30-8:30pm
Wednesday: 5:30-8:30pm
Thursday: 6:30-8:30pm
Friday: 5:30-6:30pm
Saturday: 9:30-10:30am
Potential for private lessons following Friday and Saturday times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach athletes in proper tumbling technique with an emphasis on form, power, and safety.
- Spot athletes on running tumbling passes including Round Off Back Handspring series.
- Spot standing tumbling up to and including Standing Back Tuck.
- Create and implement progressive tumbling drills to build strength, flexibility, and skill confidence.
- Provide constructive feedback and encourage athlete development.
- Monitor athlete progress and adjust training plans accordingly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and positive training environment.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support team goals and athlete readiness for performance or competition.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience coaching tumbling in cheer, gymnastics, or acrobatics.
- Proven ability to safely spot running tumbling and standing skills up to a back tuck.
- Strong understanding of body mechanics and progressive skill development.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic coaching style.
- Must be reliable, professional, and team-oriented.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Fine Print
A few requirements to note:
- Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
- Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
- Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
- Ability to spot an athlete, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
- Ability to move equipment including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to maintain a consistent evening schedule. The kids need their coach to be in the gym!
