2027 Summer Intern, Real Estate Economics & Consulting

Austin / Los Angeles / Washington, D.C.

RCLCO is one of the nation’s most respected real estate consulting firms. Founded in 1967, we provide strategic and analytical guidance to clients across the real estate industry, helping them make informed decisions about development, investment, and long-term strategy.

The Real Estate Economics (“REE”) team is RCLCO’s original consulting practice and the foundation on which the firm was built. The REE team combines market, economic, demographic, consumer, and financial analysis with a practical understanding of real estate development to help clients evaluate opportunities and develop strategies for projects, communities, and markets.

Our work spans market feasibility, development strategy, financial analysis, long-range economic planning, and consumer research, among other areas. Recent examples include strategic market analysis for Titletown in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin; master-planning work for the Union Printers Home; and economic development consulting for the District of Columbia’s Downtown Action Plan.

We are looking for driven, analytically minded students to join the REE team for a paid Summer 2027 internship. Interns contribute to active client engagements, work alongside experienced consultants, and build a practical foundation for a career in real estate.

Why You Should Join Us

  • Work on real client engagements. Interns contribute to active assignments, with their research, analysis, and presentation materials helping to support the recommendations we provide to clients.
  • Gain broad exposure to the real estate industry. Our work spans urban, suburban, and rural markets and encompasses a range of project types, including mixed-use, housing, office, retail, hospitality, and industrial, among others. Given the diversity of the work, Interns learn how to approach real estate decisions in many different contexts.
  • Build a durable analytical toolkit. Interns learn how to identify market trends, conduct research, construct financial and statistical analyses, and communicate findings through clear, polished client materials.
  • Learn from experienced consultants. Interns work directly with project managers and senior firm leadership, gaining exposure to how consulting teams approach problems, evaluate solutions, and translate analysis into recommendations.
  • Establish a foundation for a career in real estate. Strong performers may be invited to return to RCLCO to advance their careers in real estate consulting. Others have pursued careers in real estate development, private equity, banking, investment, and public policy, among other industries.
  • Receive competitive compensation for meaningful work. The internship provides monthly compensation of $5,200, less required taxes and withholdings.

What You'll Do

  • Organize data, analyze trends, and construct financial and statistical models by employing existing RCLCO methodologies and/or developing new approaches
  • Conduct primary and secondary economic, demographic, and real estate research
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to clients
  • Provide analytical support in client meetings and presentations
  • Support business development and intellectual property initiatives

What We're Looking For
