Position Summary:

RCX Sports is experiencing an explosive phase of growth, expanding its impact on youth sports across the country and into new international markets. Through a platform-driven approach, we empower a growing network of League Operators to deliver safe, organized, and—most importantly—fun recreational league experiences across NFL FLAG, MLS GO, Jr. NBA Leagues, NHL Street, and emerging pilot programs. Our evolving platform model is designed to provide League Operators with the resources, training, technology, and support they need to enhance and expand the youth sports experience at scale.

The Director of Analytics will play a pivotal role in owning the end to end process of centralizing analytics and building a scalable, automated reporting and business intelligence function. This role will improve data accessibility, establish and enhance governance, and ensure analytics capabilities align with business needs. Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, the Director, Analytics will transform complex data into actionable insights that drive smarter decision-making and business impact.

This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, business acumen, and leadership. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who can structure data for usability, improve forecasting, and establish governance frameworks to ensure reporting consistency. They will proactively identify opportunities for automation, streamline reporting workflows, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to enhance analytics-driven decision-making.

Beyond execution, this leader will develop and mentor the analytics team, strengthening their ability to extract insights and maximize business impact. The right candidate brings experience in building and evolving analytics functions, and supporting executive decision-making through clear, data-driven recommendations.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Own the company’s analytics function, centralizing reporting and establishing scalable, automated business intelligence solution while frequently interacting with senior and executive leaders and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, recurring reports, and custom analytics to improve data accessibility and usability across teams.
  • Establish, own, and maintain an analytics roadmap to provide transparency on ongoing projects, track progress, and organize new reporting and data requests.
  • Manage and develop a team of Data Analyst, providing mentorship, training, and professional growth opportunities that align with the growth of the company
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering to define requests, develop creative solutions leveraging your in-depth knowledge of data analysis and business intelligence, and ensure analytics align with business needs to support strategic decision-making.
  • Regularly prepare and present reports, decks, and other data visualizations to senior stakeholders that provide data-driven insights that inform company planning, investment decisions, supply chain and commerce decisions, and performance tracking.
  • Implement and enforce data governance practices in partnership with Data Engineering to improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and trust in data.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting workflows, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
  • Establish scalable processes and business intelligence tools that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and key stakeholders, including Pro League Partners
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure the analytics infrastructure supports data extraction, reporting, and analysis needs.
  • Drive adoption of analytics tools by training internal teams and ensuring business users can access and interpret key insights.

 Education & Experience:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Science, with 4 or more years in a management position 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data strategy, and business intelligence can be considered. Demonstrated expertise in data visualization, reporting automation, SQL, and analytics strategy will be required.
  • Required Skills and Expertise:
    • Analytics & Business Intelligence: Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar.
    • Leadership: Comfortable building scalable data analytics functions, providing recommendations to executive leadership leveraging insights from data, owning a data analytics roadmap, and building, training, and  a data analytics team
    • SQL Proficiency: Ability to write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
    • ETL/ELT Knowledge: Understanding of data pipeline management and working with tools like dbt, Fivetran, or Airflow.
    • A/B Testing & Experimentation: Background in running and analyzing A/B tests for business insights and strategy refinement.
  • Preferred Skills and Expertise:
    • Advanced Analytics & Statistical Methods: Familiarity with Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for deeper data analysis.
    • Cloud Data Warehousing: Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar platforms.
    • CRM & Marketing Analytics: Experience working with Salesforce, MailChimp, HubSpot, Google Analytics, or customer data platforms (CDPs).
    • Heroku Connect: Experience working with Heroku Connect for Salesforce data syncing.
    • Salesforce: Hands-on experience leveraging Salesforce data for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.

Additional Position Details:

  • Travel: Less than 10% of the time
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (Some nights and weekends as needed)
  • Work Location: Remote
  • Compensation: This position is a salaried role paid semi-monthly and is eligible for annual discretionary bonus based on personal and company performance (OT – Exempt). Our pay grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus & benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, 401(k), Paid Parental Leave, Unlimited PTO, Monthly Wellness expense Reimbursement and additional voluntary benefits.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Will oversee a team of full-time direct reports
