The Data Science and Analytics organization at Realtor.com sits at the heart of our mission. We process and analyze terabytes of data every day that enable decisions for millions of home buyers, sellers, renters, dreamers, and real estate professionals. We empower them with the most up-to-date information on properties, help them find their dream homes in the least amount of time, and match them with the most suitable realtor to meet their unique, individual needs.

We are seeking a Data Scientist with a strong background in data science, experimentation and  marketing analytics to join our Client Analytics team. In this role, you will be a key business partner to our Marketing team by transforming complex data into compelling insights, synthesizing them into narratives that drive measurable business change. You will work on developing data science models that improve the operational efficiency of sales and marketing teams, conducting experiments for marketing decisions, building KPIs and dashboards for making critical strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented executor who thrives on creating significant business impact, enjoys collaborating with partners in marketing and sales and analytics, and brings expertise in Python, SQL and data science. 

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with marketing stakeholders to translate questions and business needs into data science and analytics problems and provide timely and actionable insights 
  • Work on interesting marketing projects such as Prospect Modeling, Cross sell and Upsell modeling, Attribution problems, Audience segmentation and optimize advertising budgets to maximize ROI. 
  • Design experiments and measurement strategies to assess campaign and channel effectiveness. Own the end to end experimentation loop by analyzing results and sharing learnings with broader sales and marketing teams 
  • Define critical KPIs and build key reporting deliverables and dashboards to help senior leadership understand key metrics and trends that drive operational rigor and manage performance 
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses and recurring requests for campaign performance, reporting, and metric deep-dives with precision, speed, and reliability.

Contribute to the marketing data science and experimentation by implementing innovative solutions to drive efficiency in our data and modeling processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist, Analytics or similar role, using SQL and Python (pandas, numpy, scipy, sk-learn). 
  • Sound foundations of Statistics, Machine Learning (regression, classification, clustering problems) and Experimentation (randomization, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, etc.) and causal inference. 
  • Strong SQL and Python skills with ability to handle large, messy, multi-source data to deliver quick and ad hoc analyses. Proficient with spreadsheets to deliver adhoc reports to stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, sales, revenue and data platform teams to conduct deep-dives and provide strategic recommendations. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, business-focused recommendations.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong growth mindset, time management, and organizational skills. Highly adaptable, and curious to work on complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science).
  • Experience in Marketing Analytics with familiarity on sales and revenue analytics
  • Experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
  • Exposure to real estate, marketplace, or consumer product analytics.
