Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our high-performance engineering organization as a full-time, hands-on individual contributor. In this role, you will be embedded within a cross-functional team owning critical segments of our consumer ecosystem.

Our engineering organization is structured so that each domain team owns its vertical stack end-to-end—from backend microservices and APIs through frontend and DevOps. We are looking for an engineer with genuine depth across all layers of the stack who can move seamlessly between backend logic and rich frontend experiences, contributing independently within their first few weeks.

Beyond technical skills, we want someone who is innovative, proactive, and self-driven—an engineer who actively seeks out better tools, raises quality standards, and delivers without waiting for direction. We place a premium on self-learners who challenge the status quo, take genuine pride in the reliability of what they ship, and comfortably navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Potential Teams you will get to work on:

1. New Constructions

  • The Focus: Powering the leading builder listing platform in the US, empowering a diverse range of consumers to discover and customize their dream homes.
  • What You’ll Work On: Building hyper-customized web experiences for vibrant new communities, optimizing high-velocity frontends for substantial traffic and search engine optimization (SEO), enhancing backend services, modernizing infrastructure, expanding automated test suites, and engineering automated developer toolchains for instantaneous cloud service provisioning.

2. Mortgage & Financial Services

  • The Focus: Building the digital future of home financing by creating seamless, secure, and transparent financial tools for buyers and lenders.
  • What You’ll Work On: High-traffic loan origination flows, real-time rate and affordability calculators, secure lead capture systems, compliance-aware data architecture, and deep integrations with third-party lender partner APIs.

3. Rentals Post-Lead & B2B Partnerships

  • The Focus: Powering what happens after the lead - building the products and backend services that turn renter interest into completed applications and drive rental revenue for property managers and independent landlords.
  • What You’ll Work On: Partner-facing portals and promoted-listing products, external partner integrations (application and listing providers), GraphQL services and backend infrastructure at scale, revenue-diversification features, and the data pipelines behind partner performance and reporting.

What You’ll Do:

  • Product Delivery: Design, build, and maintain high-traffic features and partner integrations across the full vertical stack (backend, APIs, frontend, infrastructure, databases).
  • Engineering Excellence: Write well-tested, production-ready code. Own and enforce test automation standards (unit, integration, E2E) in line with an engineering-owned quality model.
  • Operational Ownership: Take full accountability for the operational quality, observability, and reliability of your services—including setting SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response readiness.
  • Data & Security: Ensure data integrity, secure engineering practices, and compliance-aware design when handling sensitive consumer, financial, and high-volume marketplace data.
  • Modern Workflow Innovation: Leverage and champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Windsurf, Portkey, Gemini) to optimize development workflows.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Drive project delivery with strong personal ownership—managing scope, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders to build trust quickly.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: Bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and scaling distributed systems and high-traffic, consumer-facing products.
  • True Full-Stack Capability: Demonstrate proven depth across backend services, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, modern frontend frameworks (React or equivalent), and cloud/DevOps.
  • Backend Expertise: Utilize your strong experience with Node.js and microservice architectures.
  • Domain Background: Leverage your experience building search, marketplace, listing-based, or financial services products (e.g., loan application flows, rate calculators, lender/partner API integrations).
  • Operational Rigor: Take direct ownership of production infrastructure, including observability, SLOs, and incident management.
  • Execution: Apply strong project management skills to independently drive features from scoping through delivery in an agile, matrixed environment.
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • AI Tools: Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into your daily workflow.
  • Data Architecture: Familiarity with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS) and data pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, S3, Aurora, reverse ETL).
  • Cloud & DevOps: Experience deploying and operating services on AWS using Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Advanced API Design: Familiarity with federated GraphQL architecture.
  • Compliance Awareness: Understanding of financial data sensitivity and compliance considerations relevant to consumer financial products (e.g., RESPA, TILA awareness).
  • Culture: Comfort working in a data- and metrics-driven engineering culture aligned with performance KPIs.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
