Compensation: $160,000+ plus 15% bonus

Position Overview:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Reach Financial, you'll play a key role in helping teams produce high-quality software for thousands of customers working to outsmart debt for good. Actively seeking out opportunities to increase test coverage and improve our approach to testing, you'll be an enabling force; allowing your team to deliver value to our customers quickly and safely. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to ensure new features and product improvements meet our high bar for quality. As a senior member of the team, you'll define effective test strategies, provide mentorship, lead cross-functional initiatives, and architect enterprise-level testing solutions that enable rapid, confident delivery of innovative financial products.

What you will do:

Technical Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive test automation strategies across multiple products and platforms
  • Architect scalable testing frameworks and infrastructure that support enterprise-level growth
  • Drive technical decisions for testing tools, platforms, and methodologies across the engineering organization
  • Establish and maintain testing standards, best practices, and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines

Cross-functional Collaboration & Impact:

  • Partner with Engineering to define quality roadmaps and influence architectural decisions
  • Collaborate with Product teams to translate business requirements into comprehensive teststrategies
  • Lead cross-team initiatives to improve overall system reliability, performance, and securitytesting
  • Drive adoption of shift-left testing practices and quality engineering culture

Team Development:

  • Lead knowledge sharing sessions and establish training programs for testing best practices
  • Conduct technical interviews and contribute to hiring decisions for the Test Enablement team
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within Product & Engineering

Advanced Testing & Innovation:

  • Research and evaluate emerging testing technologies and methodologies
  • Design and implement sophisticated testing solutions for complex financial systems and regulatory requirements
  • Lead efforts in performance testing, chaos engineering, and production monitoring
  • Drive automation initiatives that significantly reduce manual testing overhead

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale test automation solutions, including test infrastructure, testing environments, and test orchestration (CI/CD - GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with modern functional testing automation tools (Playwright, Puppeteer, Cypress.io )
  • Extensive experience with API, Integration, visual regression, and performance testing tools(Postman, REST-assured, Pact, Percy, Applitools, JMeter, K6)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python) with strong software engineering practices
  • Proven experience architecting and implementing CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated track record of leading medium to large-scale, cross-functional testing initiatives and driving measurable improvements in quality metrics
  • Experience leading technical discussions and presenting to stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Nice to have:

  • Testing experience with Salesforce applications and custom development
  • Experience with consumer financial products and regulatory requirements (PCI DSS, SOX)
  • Previous senior-level experience at high-growth startups
    Knowledge of security testing, load testing, and chaos engineering practices
