The Renewable Energy Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of Reactivate’s solar project portfolio. This role is critical to ensure safe, reliable and compliant performance across our sites, and will serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, third party service providers and suppliers.
Responsibilities ⚙️
- Oversee the daily operation of Reactivate’s portfolio with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance
- Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Serve as the primary interface with third-party O&M providers, asset managers and suppliers
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and communication issues, including inverter faults, tracker faults, and site performance concerns
- Procure parts, materials, services and support resolution of technical issues
- Conduct routine Quality Assurance inspections of third-party technician work
- Develop and implement operating and maintenance procedures in line with state and local regulations
- Develop annual Operations & Management (O&M) budgets and provide regular operational status reports
- Manage expenditures within the limits of approved plans and budgets
- Assist field technicians in on-site maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as needed
- Coordinate vegetation management and snow removal services
Requirements 🎓
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field or technical degree
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance or asset management within the renewable energy industry
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in PV maintenance including DC systems, medium voltage AC systems and network communications
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using analytical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams/schematics
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools
- A minimum of six (6) months of supervisory or team leadership experience
- This position requires the ability to remotely manage operational and new projects within a region; therefore, candidates must be willing to travel up to 70% as business needs warrant
Preferred Qualifications ⭐
- Prior small-team leadership experience at the manager level
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience with rooftop solar and community solar projects
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, and other standard practices
The annual base salary for this position is $125,000 – $145,000. Reactivate considers several factors when determining base pay offers such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibility of the role, candidate’s work experience and/or education, training and certifications among other key skills at the time of offer.
