We’re excited to share that we recently closed a $50 million Series B funding round, led by Smash Capital, with continued support from existing investors Madrona and Goodwater Capital. This new funding brings our total to $81 million, just six months after our Series A. We're just getting started, so if you're passionate about shipping early, often, and impacting millions, we'd love for you to join our growing team!
The Role:
The Media Capture team is dedicated to capturing and processing critical audio and video data that powers our downstream applications, enabling smarter, real-time insights across a variety of use cases. We approach every challenge with creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to innovative solutions that impact thousands—if not millions—of users daily. We value versatility, ingenuity, and a passion for solving complex problems across diverse technology stacks and methodologies.
As a Video Streaming Software Engineer on our team, you’ll play a key role in solving dynamic, cross-disciplinary problems and applying your skills to a wide range of projects. You’ll contribute to designing scalable systems for live data capture, developing infrastructure for our bots and mobile apps, and ensuring seamless audio and video collection for our users. We don’t expect you to be an expert in every tool or domain from day one, but we value creativity, adaptability, and curiosity to help you quickly master the skills necessary to craft robust and scalable solutions. If you're motivated by impactful work and excited to build systems that bring data to life, we'd love to meet you.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and other engineers—to turn data-driven insights into meaningful, user-centric solutions.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues across data pipelines, streaming processes, and user interfaces, ensuring end-to-end reliability and performance.
- Contribute to building an inclusive and supportive team culture that celebrates diversity, fosters learning, and ensures everyone feels valued.

- Resilience & Self-Reliance: Comfortable working autonomously, handling ambiguity, and quickly adapting to changing needs or new contexts.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Commitment to Inclusion: A proactive approach to building inclusive systems and practices that value diversity and ensure accessibility for all users and team members.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), including scaling large systems dynamically, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Familiarity with mobile development (iOS and/or Android), particularly with audio/video libraries.
- Experience with audio and video streaming protocols (e.g., WebRTC) and media processing libraries (e.g., FFmpeg).
- Familiarity with web technologies like HTML and CSS, and an understanding of how sites are structured and rendered by browsers.
- Previous experience working in a startup or fast-growing environment.
