Job Summary:
We are seeking a Director, Entertainment and Influencer Marketing to join our team!
starpower is a strategic, pop-culture-centric entertainment and influencer marketing agency that counsels and connects brands with entertainment, sport, music, fashion and beauty Talent, Influencers and Content. We have been recognized as the bridge between Hollywood and healthcare, given our expertise and experience identifying and partnering Celebrity Talent and Influencers with brands in the healthcare industry. starpower works with client across various industries, including but not limited to CPG, Health & Wellness, Financial Services and Beverage Alcohol/Spirits.
We are a hybrid company with hub locations in Los Angeles and New York. Ideal candidates are located on the East Coast, or in New York, Miami, DC, Chicago or Atlanta.
What You’ll Do:
Client Service and Account Management
-
Ability to run point on culture-led programming for nationally recognized consumer brands, including talent-led activations and branded partnership opportunities/sponsorships

Ability to lead and counsel clients and inter-agency partners, as well as lead communications on multiple brands
-
Ability to project lead across multiple brands on fast-moving campaigns
-
Ability to develop and drive influencer, culture and talent-led strategy against a client brief, which often includes but is not limited to, PR objectives, building out decks + partner and client-facing sell-in materials and collaborating with agency partners to layer ideas

Attend + lead weekly client conference calls and in-person meetings, as well as daily client email comms

Be connected across entertainment verticals and have knowledge of cultural happenings across sports, music and fashion for information relevant to clients to proactively provide insights, information and pitch talent and partner led opportunities to brand, and ultimately lead negotiation to execution of the opportunity

Experience with talent, brand partnerships and/or entertainment marketing required, beverage alcohol and premium spirits clients is a bonus

Ability to oversee and develop direct reports, including daily meetings, feedback sessions, annual reviews
Talent and Partner Procurement + Campaign Management

Lead the talent and brand partnership procurement process against client brief, including talent and/or partner needed for public relations, advertising, digital and influencer campaigns, experiential, capsule collections, and co-branded partnerships

Lead the management of partnership negotiations from scope through long-form contracts, in collaboration with internal business affairs and client legal teams

Ideal candidate has experience negotiating celebrity talent, brand, or micro-influencer partnerships and strong industry network of agents, managers, publicists, and/or brand contacts

Ability to use network to identify entertainment events and content opportunities (e.g. music video integrations, event sponsorships, etc.)

Own the development of client-facing materials, including scopes of work, formal offer letters, contracts and presentations

Lead the execution of talent or partner services once campaign kicks off, including being the main liaison between talent/partner and client/agency partner, driving the coordination of approvals for campaign materials, supervising talent services against agreement

Lead the strategy and execution of brand partnership opportunities including everything from in-kind donations to large scale sponsorships and co-branded events

Lead the recapping of programs in a timely matter, providing context on value + ROI

What You Should Have:

Minimum of 8+ years of client serving and talent procurement/buying experience
-
Demonstrated experience working in Integrated Marketing, including branded partnerships + content a plus

Demonstrated experience working in multicultural or inclusive marketing, including branded partnerships + content
-
Finger on the pulse of all things culture + entertainment, know who and what is “hot”
-
A proven track record of working with celebrities and influencers
-
Experience negotiating talent endorsement deals and/or brand sponsorships
-
Relationships with major talent agencies, talent managers, publicists, etc.

Prior experience in the beverage alcohol space (bonus, not required)
-
Ideal candidate has talent or PR agency experience, and experience using talent for public relations campaigns

Experience managing budgets

Passion for the business of entertainment (tv, sports, music, fashion and beauty)

Solid understanding of pop-culture, including celebrities, athletes, musicians, digital talent, etc.

Ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, multi-tasker, a critical thinker, anticipates needs, has a sense of urgency, thrives in a fast-paced environment, is social media savvy and is detail oriented

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing decks, presenting / pitching to clients

Knowledge of FTC guidelines for influencers + paid brand partners / sponsorships

Understanding of SAG and ability to work with signatories to confirm allocations and financial implication of allocations, handle budget and payment

Bachelor’s degree preferred if degree is in a relevant course of study; e.g. business administration, sports management, integrated marketing communications (marketing, PR, advertising)

Ability to lead team members while handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
-
Highly organized individual who can work with limited direction; must be able to set and adjust priorities independently – requires a personality that thrives with challenges and excels at finding solutions

Exceptional interpersonal, written and communication skills – this is a relationship industry, must be able to adapt to various work styles
Pay Range: $95,000-$150,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply.
