Director, Product Marketing & Go-to-Market

Remote US or Canada

Are you ready to make a lasting impact on literacy?

At Really Great Reading, we are building a bright, diverse, and passionate team dedicated to leading the industry in improving literacy scores nationwide. With nearly two decades of leadership bringing the Science of Reading to thousands of schools, we design innovative products, training, and materials that transform how educators teach and how students learn. Here, we empower our team with the tools, support, and professional growth opportunities they need to thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment—where your work truly makes a difference.

Why This Role Matters

Behind every successful product is a clear story about the problem it solves, the value it delivers, and why it matters to the people making the decision. At Really Great Reading, product marketing connects what we build to the educators and district leaders who choose it, while giving our sales teams the clarity and tools they need to bring those solutions to schools and students.

With a major new product launch ahead and a renewed focus on helping current customers get the full value of their programs, this role will shape how RGR brings products to market, communicates their value, and builds lasting customer relationships.

Success in this role means launches arrive on schedule with sales teams ready to sell, our positioning and messaging are clear and consistent, enablement is actively used in the field, and product marketing contributes measurably to pipeline, adoption, retention, and expansion.

The Role

The Director, Product Marketing & Go-to-Market is the commercial bridge between our products, our customers, and our sales teams.

You’ll lead go-to-market strategy and launches, positioning and messaging, pricing and packaging, sales enablement, and competitive and customer insight across RGR’s product portfolio. Working closely with Product, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, Research, and Curriculum, you’ll turn product strategy and market insight into plans the organization can execute. You’ll also lead and develop the Product Marketing Manager and partner across Marketing to bring those plans to market.

The ideal candidate can move comfortably between strategy and execution: equally comfortable shaping the positioning for a major product launch, joining a sales call to hear how that messaging lands with buyers, and turning customer, market, and performance insights into sharper positioning, stronger enablement, and better go-to-market decisions.

What You’ll Do

Go-to-Market Strategy & Product Launches

  • Lead go-to-market planning for new products and major releases, aligning Product, Sales, Partnerships, and Customer Success on timing, readiness, and measures of success
  • Own positioning and messaging across the product portfolio and ensure consistency across campaigns, sales materials, and customer communications
  • Partner with Product and Finance on pricing and packaging decisions that are clear to buyers and easy for sales teams to communicate
  • Define the evidence and customer stories needed to support product positioning, partnering with Research and Curriculum to substantiate claims

Sales Enablement & Commercial Partnership

  • Build and lead the sales enablement program, including playbooks, battlecards, launch training, and an enablement calendar developed with Sales leadership
  • Partner directly with Sales and field teams to understand buyer needs, strengthen messaging, and improve how RGR solutions are positioned
  • Measure adoption and effectiveness of enablement resources and adjust based on field feedback and performance

Market & Customer Insight

  • Lead competitive intelligence and win/loss practices that inform positioning, enablement, and product priorities
  • Maintain a regular voice-of-customer practice with Customer Success to inform launch, retention, and expansion strategies
  • Use AI-assisted research and analysis to improve the speed and depth of market and competitive insights while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment

Leadership & Performance

  • Lead and develop the Product Marketing Manager
  • Partner with Content, Marketing Operations, Design, and other cross-functional teams to bring programs to market
  • Measure how product launches and product marketing initiatives contribute to pipeline, adoption, retention, and expansion
  • Use performance results, customer insight, and field feedback to continuously improve go-to-market strategy

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of product marketing experience, including at least 3 years leading product launches or go-to-market programs
  • Experience leading at least one major product launch end to end, from positioning through sales readiness and post-launch measurement
  • Experience building a sales enablement program that achieved meaningful adoption, with a clear approach to measuring its impact
  • Experience shaping pricing and packaging decisions
  • Strong positioning, messaging, and writing skills for both buyers and sales teams
  • Experience managing and developing at least one product marketer
  • Experience working directly with Sales and field teams, including participating in customer calls and leading training
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for research, competitive analysis, or content development, with sound judgment around accuracy and appropriate use
  • B2B experience with long, multi-stakeholder buying cycles

Preferred Qualifications

  • K–12 education or EdTech experience, particularly selling to school districts
  • Familiarity with the Science of Reading or literacy instruction
  • Experience leading win/loss or voice-of-customer programs
  • Experience developing customer marketing strategies that support retention and expansion
  • Experience partnering with research or efficacy teams on evidence-based product claims
