Why This Role Matters
Behind every successful literacy implementation are educators who understand not only how to use a program, but how to bring it to life in their classrooms. At Really Great Reading, professional learning is an essential part of helping schools and districts translate evidence-based literacy instruction into meaningful classroom practice.
The Professional Services Consultant helps make that connection possible by delivering engaging, practical training that builds educator confidence, strengthens instructional practices, and supports successful implementation across our district partnerships.
Success in this role means educators leave professional learning experiences prepared to apply what they've learned, training aligns with district implementation goals, and ongoing feedback and support contribute to stronger instructional practices and long-term partnership success.
The Role
The Professional Services Consultant is an instructional expert and professional learning facilitator responsible for delivering high-quality training and supporting the successful implementation of RGR programs across partner schools and districts.
You'll work closely with Regional Engagement Managers and district stakeholders to coordinate professional learning, tailor training to different audiences, and provide follow-up support that helps educators translate learning into classroom practice. Based in the DMV area, you'll support district partnerships through frequent in-person engagements, with regional travel of up to 75%. You'll also use training feedback and participation data to improve delivery and inform broader implementation efforts.
The ideal candidate can move comfortably between instructional expertise and adult learning: equally confident facilitating professional development for a room of educators, adapting instruction to meet different learning needs, and helping district partners connect training to practical classroom outcomes.
