Here, we empower our team with the tools, support, and professional growth opportunities they need to thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment—where your work truly makes a difference.

Why This Role Matters

Behind every informed business decision at Really Great Reading is accurate data, thoughtful analysis, and an understanding of how our business operates. As our organization evolves, we need to understand what drives performance, where processes need improvement, and how to invest resources to best support the educators and students we serve.

The Finance and Operations Analyst connects financial analysis with the everyday operations of our business. Working across departments, this role helps leaders investigate challenges, evaluate resource needs, improve processes, and translate data into practical decisions.

Success in this role means delivering trusted financial and operational insights, identifying the root causes of business challenges, improving systems and workflows, and independently moving projects from an initial question to an actionable solution.

We are seeking a resourceful, analytical Finance and Operations Analyst to support business analysis, financial planning, performance reporting, and operational improvement across Really Great Reading. This is a business operations role with a financial analysis core, partnering closely with Finance and Operations leadership and colleagues across departments.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Collaborate with department partners to define and monitor meaningful key performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that make financial and operational performance easier to understand.
  • Gather, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources, investigating discrepancies and coordinating corrections.
  • Present findings clearly, explaining what the data shows, why it matters, and what action it supports.
  • Document data sources, assumptions, and reporting methods to improve consistency and reliability.

Process Improvement and Systems Support

  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve data and reporting accuracy.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement process improvements and assess whether changes achieve their intended results.
  • Support the day-to-day administration of financial and operational tools, including systems such as Ramp.
  • Help maintain system users and access, including adding and removing users in coordination with established approval processes.
  • Document workflows and support colleagues in using systems and processes effectively.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Project Ownership

  • Build relationships across departments to understand business needs and connect operational activity with financial outcomes.
  • Manage analytical and process improvement projects from problem definition through recommendations and implementation support.
  • Organize priorities, track progress, and communicate dependencies or roadblocks.
  • Balance recurring reporting and operational responsibilities with new projects and emerging needs.
  • Take initiative to surface problems and propose solutions while keeping stakeholders informed.
