Who we are looking for
Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer passionate about solving difficult problems and delivering measurable results. This role focuses on increasing high volume manufacturing of thermoplastic composite automotive parts. You will engage cross-functionally in a small team to safely and ethically satisfy customer demands, optimize workflows, reduce inconsistency, and help grow the product line. The right applicant brings 3-5 years of diverse hands-on manufacturing experience and enthusiasm for ongoing development.
What you will get to do
- Optimize manufacturing processes and workflow to boost efficiency, quality, reliability, and throughput
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing tools
- Build a process foundation that supports new product launches from concept through production
- Analyze data to uncover opportunities for cost savings, process reliability, and quality improvements
- Develop clear work instructions and process documentation and train affected personnel
- Partner with engineers who compose product specifications to ensure manufacturability is built in from the earliest concept stages
- Recommend, specify, and implement new equipment and tooling that advance our capabilities
- Solve production challenges with creative engineering solutions
- Drive safety, quality, and environmental responsibility across operations
What you bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent background
- 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with SPC for process control and as an improvement tool
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing & quality system tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA/GR&R, and TPM
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize various tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
- Proficiency in Statistical Analysis Software, such as MiniTab or JMP
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred
Salary
$90,000-$130,000 depending on experience
