Director, Clinical Strategy & Operations
Mission
Empower everyone to live a long, full and optimal life.
We're redesigning heart health, care management, and navigation from the ground up so that everyone can live fuller lives. We're building technology to accelerate recovery after a cardiac event. And we're optimizing health stacks to realize preventive and aspirational goals.
Recora is redefining virtual care— we invite you to join us on this mission.
About Recora
Recora was founded in 2020 by seasoned digital health entrepreneurs. In past roles, we've founded and scaled high-growth startups, run large health systems, advised government programs, built technology you use every day, and provided healthcare for millions of lives.
We're backed by leading VCs including SignalFire, Pear, GFC , 2048, Great Oaks, MGV and more. Over the last few years, we've built the leading virtual cardiac recovery and management platform for members with cardiac conditions. For every member we serve, we add an average of five years to their lifespan.
We're growing – fast. As we serve more patients, we're also expanding our services, helping to support patients in navigating the entirety of their care journey. This will allow us to scale nationally and accelerate product development across the continuum of preventive health.
Who We Are
We are innovators at heart. This driving force guides us to create, build, partner, and operate at the highest levels. We seek answers to some of the hardest problems in technology and healthcare and enjoy the process of finding unexplored solutions.
We're a group of diverse, thoughtful and humble folks. Having worked in organizations of every size and shape, we know that people make or break teams. An open, ego-free and supportive culture is central to making the best team of people at Recora.
As a team, we love our work and love working together. We take ownership in Recora and strive to grow personally and professionally in service of our mission. Because we enjoy hard problems and value growth, we can celebrate both challenges and excellence in equal measure.
What we're looking for
Pinnie—Recora’s new direct-to-patient line— is hiring its first Director of Clinical Strategy & Operations. At Pinnie, our mission is to empower individuals facing health challenges by providing compassionate, expert-guided care advocacy services. We are dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives personalized support, clear guidance, and seamless care coordination.
Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, you will focus on bringing standardization, structure, and scalable processes to our health advocacy services. This role will require strong generalist skills to tactically operate a quickly growing clinical organization of healthcare advocates.
You’ll serve as the main internal lead overseeing health navigation and advocacy, providing clinical, strategic, and operational guidance to a cross-functional team. Your clinical background and track record building product will help ensure Pinnie delivers a best-in-class patient experience. In practice, this means translating clinical guidelines into intuitive products and workflows, answering escalated clinical questions from our health advocates, and ensuring every patient feels supported from first touch-point through long-term follow-up. You’ll partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and Clinical Quality teams to build a system that keeps patients engaged and on track with their care.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of advocates with end to end ownership of patient outcomes / engagement
- Ensure Pinnie’s patients receive excellent care and a best-in-class advocate experience through developing, implementing, and iterating on the care model
- Build and structure clinical operations (including escalation and triage) processes in a scalable fashion that balances quality, safety, and efficiency of service
- Own and evolve the clinical-product roadmap for navigation, escalation, and engagement tooling.
- Continuously improve the patient’s experience in care encounters and improve communication across internal teams, advocates, and patients
- Develop evidence-based protocols, playbooks, and decision trees that empower health advocates to resolve most questions autonomously and escalate when appropriate.
- Lead cross-functional squads to design, launch, and iterate on features that improve NPS, completion rates, and health outcomes.
- Build feedback loops: synthesize patient and advocate insights, analyze data, and propose product or process changes that remove friction.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for retention, engagement, quality, and safety
- Oversee ongoing training programs to keep the advocate workforce current on clinical policies and guidelines
- Serve as primary liaison to external clinical advisors and partners to ensure our navigation policies align with the latest standards of care and regulatory requirements
Your past experience
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. If you’re excited about our mission but don’t hit every bullet, please still apply!
- You have a strong background in patient care, but you’re not a traditional provider. Beyond clinical experiences, you enjoy building digital products and services for patients.
- You have thrived in environments that let you think outside the box. Embracing technology, you’ve brought research, data, and operational insights to innovate on behalf of patients and providers.
- 4+ years in clinical operations, care management, population health, or digital health product leadership.
- Degree/licensure in a clinical field (MD/DO, NP/PA, RN, or comparable)
- Demonstrated success designing or scaling patient-facing products or services (e.g., telehealth, care navigation, coaching, population-health platforms).
- Proven ability to turn guidelines and regulatory requirements into practical workflows and user experiences.
- Data-driven mindset—you form hypotheses, run experiments, and interpret analytics to guide decisions.
- Experience managing and motivating cross-disciplinary teams; comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build new processes from scratch.
- Bonus: experience with value-based care models, cardiac or chronic-condition populations, or health advocacy / coaching programs.
