We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior People Operations Generalist to join our growing global People team. As the lead People Operations contact in the UK, you will play a crucial role in shaping the employee experience, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring smooth People Operations for our UK colleagues. This is a brand new role for Recursion and as such the successful candidate will play a huge part in designing and building the People function in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, global organization at the forefront of drug discovery.

In this role, you will

  • Be the primary point of contact for all People Operations-related matters for Recursion employees based in the UK, ensuring compliance with UK employment law.
  • Actively participate in the global People Operations team, contributing to the development and implementation of People initiatives and programs.
  • Proactively identify and address employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers.
  • Take ownership of global immigration and visas for all employees.
  • Manage and optimize the use of our HRIS system (HiBob) in the UK, including implementing new features, improving and automating processes, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to enhance the employee experience and streamline People Operations.
  • Work closely with the global Payroll team, providing support and data as necessary.

As a member of our global People Operations team, whilst predominantly working with UK-based employees, you’ll have a chance to work on global projects that impact our brilliant and talented teams across the globe. You will report to our Head of People Operations and work closely with an amazing team of People Operations Specialists based in the UK, Canada, and the United States. Alongside working with the People Ops team, you will be joining a team of talented People Business Partners, a fantastic Talent Acquisition team and a strong Reward function.

The Experience You’ll Need

  • 6+ years of experience as a People Generalist, with proven experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. A CIPD qualification is desirable but proven, hands-on HR experience is much more important to us.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and compliance including UK Immigration practices.
  • Experience managing employee relations issues and providing guidance to employees and managers.
  • Experience building and using systems (we use HiBob and CultureAmp) and operational excellence.
  • Confidence and ability to work independently whilst also operating as part of a global team.
  • A passion for technology and a strong understanding of how AI and automation can be used to improve the employee experience.

Working Location:

This position is based at our office located in London. Please note that we are a hybrid environment and ask that employees spend 50% of their time in the office. We would also expect some infrequent travel to other office locations in the UK, USA and Canada.
