Responsibilities:
- We are seeking a Network services engineer with configuration, management, and troubleshooting experience, using solutions from one or more major networking and security OEM’s. (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- You will interface internally with other engineering teams, sales support, PMs, and procurement to leverage and provide support in a cross-functional manner.
- You will have tremendous opportunity to train, learn, lead, and grow your skillset as this is a customer-facing role as well as a role that encompasses some pre-sales activities outside of support.
- This role will be approximately 10% solution delivery and 80% professional services, with the remaining time spent on learning, development, and certification.
Skills you bring with you:
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless APs, and edge/SD WAN devices such as uCPEs.
- The candidate must be highly technical and able to implement solutions designed by others and effectively interpret architectural drawings and specifications and be willing to ask questions when necessary to expand their understanding and ensure success.
- Working knowledge and background with common device management protocols and authentication methods like SNMP, Netflow, RADIUS, LDAP, and external identity providers.
- Experience with datacenter and cloud ecosystem connectivity concepts such as: cloud exchanges, datacenter network layouts, transceiver and fiber compatibility, cloud gateways, peering and so forth.
- Proven ability to work and problem solve independently/collaboratively, to organize workload and priorities, high-quality execution, technical innovation/adoption, and initiative.
- Must be a self-starter and actively engage with customers and account teams.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication.
- Operate from a security focused mindset to ensure actions taken do not compromise the integrity or confidentiality of client systems.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience network or systems engineering and operations or similar position.
- Enterprise customer or consulting experience is ideal.
- Routing and switching skillset with working knowledge of IPv4/v6 routing and switching,
- Understanding of the TCP/IP stack and commonly used protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, HSRP, VRRP, LACP).
- Ability to articulate complex architectures to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work with multiple internal and external teams and organizations in a fast-paced highly dynamic environment.
Additionally, you will stand out if you can showcase the following:
- Experience with Open Networking platforms and solutions.
- Development/Scripting experience (e.g. Python, Perl, Ruby).
- Experience with advanced network protocols such as BGP, MPLS, QoS, VPLS, VRF, GRE, VxLAN, EVPN, IPSec, VPN, Multicast, and policy-based routing.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet and/or other tools.
- Experience in automation of infrastructure deployment across multiple cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare, OpenShift, OpenStack, and/or other platforms.
Travel required:
- Travel will fluctuate but will generally be less than 30% annually
The base salary range for this full-time position in the US is $120,000 - $140,000 annually + bonuses + benefits. Redapt salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The salary range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the base pay offered may vary within the range depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to work location, job related knowledge/skills, relevant education/training, and level of experience.
