About Us
Red Cell Partners is an incubation firm building and investing in rapidly scalable technology-led companies that are bringing revolutionary advancements to market in three distinct practice areas: healthcare, cyber, and national security. United by a shared sense of duty and deep belief in the power of innovation, Red Cell is developing powerful tools and solutions to address our Nation’s most pressing problems.
About Andesite:
After decades defending the nation's most sensitive networks, we founded Andesite with a clear mission: to build security products that transform how humans and AI collaborate to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
We’re a diverse team of cyber and security experts, passionate technologists, and experienced product builders. We come from some of the largest national security, tech, cybersecurity, and data organizations on the planet.
We've raised more than $38 million from investors like General Catalyst and Red Cell Partners.
The future of cybersecurity isn't about better technology alone—it's about reimagining how humans and machines work together. Come build with us.
The Role:
We are looking for a foundational Head of People to build and lead our People function. As a strategic partner to the founders and leadership team, you will be the architect of our people strategy and the steward of our culture. Your mission is to build a world-class employee experience that enables Andesite to attract, develop, and retain the exceptional talent needed to achieve our ambitious goals.
This is a unique opportunity to build from the ground up, shaping the policies, programs, and systems that will define our organization for years to come. You will balance long-term strategic planning with the hands-on execution required in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the People Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive People roadmap that aligns with and drives our business objectives. Lead all aspects of the function, from onboarding and talent management to scaling our people and culture programs.
- Be a Strategic Partner to Leadership: Serve on the leadership team as the primary expert on people and culture. Provide counsel on organizational design, talent strategy, and scaling a high-performance, remote-first team.
- Build Foundational Programs: Design, implement, and scale the core programs that support our team, including performance management, compensation and leveling frameworks, learning and development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Champion Culture: Intentionally cultivate and scale our unique culture. Help define and embody our core values, and develop rituals and practices that foster connection, collaboration, and inclusivity in a distributed environment.
- Establish Operational Excellence: Build a lean, efficient, and compliant People Operations function. Implement and manage the right systems (HRIS, payroll, etc.) and processes to support the full employee lifecycle seamlessly.
What You Have:
- 8+ years of progressive HR/People Ops experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling the People function at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series C).
- A "full-stack" People background, with deep expertise across the entire employee lifecycle and the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated success as a strategic partner to founders and executives.
- Experience building key programs from the ground up, such as compensation bands, career paths, and manager training.
- Strong business acumen and a data-centric mindset.
- Exceptional judgment and experience handling sensitive employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Tech-savvy and forward-thinking, with hands-on experience with modern HR tools (HRIS, ATS, compensation platforms, etc.).
- Unimpeachable integrity and discretion.
Even Better If You Have:
- Experience in a highly technical industry, such as cybersecurity or defense tech.
- Experience scaling a company through multiple funding rounds.
- Experience managing international team members (contractors or via an EOR).
What We Offer:
- Top-of-market competitive salary, bonus, and equity package
- 100% employer paid, comprehensive health insurance including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family
- Unlimited PTO, with your manager’s approval
- Flexible work environment where you manage your work day
- A remote-first environment, with occasional travel to collaborate with customers, your team, and teammates from across the company in person
- Home office reimbursement
- 14 weeks of fully-paid parental leave
Salary range: $130,000-$160,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience, skills, and other factors.
