AI Developer Advocate
About the Role:
We’re looking for a technically skilled Developer Evangelist who knows the ins and outs of AI. The next frontier of applications will be autonomous, powered by sophisticated orchestration across source data, models, and functions. Redpanda is rapidly building the future of agentic AI systems through robust connectivity, real-time governance, and traceability. This role will serve as the technical thought leader for the new agentic capabilities through the delivery of inspirational and educational content. You will be responsible for engaging AI developer audiences and building excitement around real-time AI applications. You’ll create sample applications, write technical blogs, deliver virtual events and podcasts, and speak at conferences or meetups to educate and grow Redpanda’s awareness among the AI community.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires close collaboration across marketing, sales, engineering, product management, and partners to identify topics for technical content.
You Will:
- Develop a strategy with quarterly roadmaps for technical content and community development based on business priorities
- Contribute hands-on to technical content in video and written format, ideation and speaking engagements
- Develop relationships with counterparts in the AI tech ecosystem including partner advocates (and competitors), influencers, and foster trust
- Engage with product and engineering teams to provide code samples, improvements, and spec feedback to drive the roadmap
- Assist the marketing team in designing developer engagement campaigns, support marketing launches and demand generation campaigns with AI community activities
- Goal and measure the impact of your activities through data
- Stay current with the AI data platform market and identify new opportunities for showcasing Redpanda with emerging agentic and streaming infrastructure data stacks
- Be a subject matter expert on topics not limited to AI/ML, data connectivity, event driven architectures, serverless and cloud-native development
You Have:
- Passion for all things developer experience, social engagement, and fostering relationships in developer communities
- Strong cross-team collaboration skills for internal and external engagement around AI and event driven technologies
- Hands-on experience creating code-intensive content in various formats such as videos, live streams, podcasts, and blogs
- Familiarity with Golang, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL, and Python
- Public speaking experience and desire to present to small and large groups, meetups, and conferences
- Demonstrated engagement on Twitter, Reddit, Bluesky, Dev.to, and other developer-centric channels
- Creativity, curiosity, wit, humor, and a sense of collaboration in your creative process
- Solid project management skills with a high bar for delivering content with quality
- A framework for measuring performance via metrics and decisions based on data
- High curiosity to discover and experiment with new technologies, keeping other team members abreast of current developments
- Experience building distributed data applications such as Kafka, working with AI systems including RAG, Vector stores along with emergent protocols in MCP, A2A, and cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in written English, with examples of work that demonstrates your ability to simplify complex concepts for developers

U.S. base salary range for this role is $188,500, - $215,000 (CA, NY, WA) and $177,000 - $208,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary.
