About the Role:

Redpanda is looking for an AI Agent Engineer to join our team in Warsaw, Poland. Ideal candidates are engineers who take initiative, balance speed with quality and are comfortable working on open-ended problems.

Redpanda is building the Agentic Data Plane, a platform designed to let enterprises safely deploy AI agents across their entire data infrastructure. We’re deploying AI agents across our company to automate how we work and make our internal operations as cutting-edge as our external products. This position reports into Engineering. In this role, you’ll partner with stakeholders in our G&A teams (HR, Finance, Legal) to identify opportunities to increase productivity and then build the AI agents to address these needs. This involves designing agentic workflows, connecting data sources, ensuring observability and governance, and pushing the boundaries of what ADP can do. You’ll also work closely with other engineers to provide input on ADP functionality and improve the product for our customers.

This is a hybrid role based in our central Warsaw office, with a minimum of 3 days/week on-site.

You Will:

  • Practice Customer Obsession: Work with internal stakeholders to deeply understand their workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for AI automation.
  • Win as a Team: Work cross-functionally to bridge the gap between technical possibility and business need, ensuring that every AI agent you build helps a colleague do their best work.
  • Build & Deploy Agents: Design, develop, and maintain AI agents and agentic workflows using LLMs to automate complex tasks.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Move from "idea" to "prototype" in days, not months, iterating quickly based on direct feedback from your users.
  • Operationalize AI: Ensure the AI tools you build are reliable, measurable, and seamlessly integrated into our existing ecosystem of tools
  • Be a Good Human: Approach every internal request with empathy and kindness, ensuring that AI tools are built to empower and support our people, not just to optimize metrics.
  • Use leading AI Tools, including Redpanda ADP: Use Redpanda’s Agentic Data Plane and other industry Agentic tools to ensure we’re using the latest tools available to meet our agentic needs.

You Have:

  • Foundational Engineering Skills:  Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (Git, testing, clean code).
  • Familiarity with Agentic Architectures: Understanding of agentic workflows and connectivity to data sources. Awareness of security and data access concerns, including understanding of application permission models and audit logging.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A commitment to Winning as a Team you can explain technical concepts to non-technical peers and are motivated by collective success.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and a "bias for action." You thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift as we discover new AI capabilities.
  • Professional Integrity: A commitment to Being a Good Human, which means building ethical, transparent AI and being a supportive, reliable teammate.
  • Professional English fluency. You can communicate clearly in writing and in cross-functional meetings.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with AI tools for software development (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
  • A portfolio of AI projects, either personal or professional, including—AI bots, agents, or automations
  • Experience with Redpanda, Apache Kafka, or similar event streaming platforms
  • Familiarity with G&A tooling (e.g., Greenhouse, Netsuite, Ironclad, or Slack API).
  • Previous experience in a startup or a "forward-deployed" capacity.

Join Redpanda if you’d enjoy being part of a fast-moving, diverse, people-first organization with team members around the globe and a culture based on trust, transparency, communication, and kindness.
