Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer

Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer supports commercial scale production and process optimization. This role assists multiple teams across all business units with continuous improvement projects across internal and external material movement, manufacturing processing lines, business processes, and synergistic leveraging across company functions to reduce operating expenses.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement improvement strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
  • Conduct and audit time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new systems and processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of production systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, systems, etc).
  • 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience: demonstrated capability and successful implementation of improvement projects.
  • Prior experience developing business cases (eg: automation, operating plans, equipment, etc).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Background in operations research (examples: linear programming, discrete event simulation, etc).
  • Prior experience with industrial scale processes and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office, 2D CAD, any linear programming software, discrete event simulation software.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards 

Working Conditions:  

  • Environment, such as office or outdoors.
  • Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time. 
  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing. 

 

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
