YOUR IMPACT
As an AI Software Developer,  you will be responsible for owning and executing AI-driven workstreams across SDLC innovation and product AI research, designing experiments, building prototypes, and delivering insights that inform engineering practices and product direction.

  • Design and run structured experiments to evaluate AI tooling across the software development lifecycle
  • Test hypotheses, measure outcomes, and clearly document findings for broader adoption
  • Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and contribute to recommendations for engineering teams
  • Build integrations and automation that embed AI capabilities into development workflows such as CI/CD and code review processes
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through reports, guides, and experiment retrospectives
  • Own and execute proof-of-concept builds demonstrating AI capabilities within Redwood’s products
  • Research emerging AI techniques including agent architectures, RAG patterns, and multimodal models, and assess their applicability
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to translate research into demos, proposals, and technical outputs
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical discussions on AI architecture and approach

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 4–7 years of professional software development experience with hands-on work building AI/ML systems or LLM-powered applications
  • Strong practical knowledge of modern AI development, including LLM APIs, prompt design, and at least one agent or RAG framework
  • Solid backend development skills in languages such as Python, Java, or similar, with comfort in a polyglot environment
  • Ability to independently structure and execute solutions for ambiguous problems and clearly communicate results
  • Demonstrated curiosity and continuous learning in the evolving AI landscape
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product or design teams

BONUS SKILLS

  • Experience with enterprise software, automation platforms, or ERP-related domains  
  • Familiarity with developer experience tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or SDLC instrumentation  
  • Exposure to AI evaluation techniques such as benchmarking or LLM quality measurement  
  • Contributions to open-source AI projects or published technical writing

Pay Transparency: The typical base salary range for this position is 107,000 - 135,000 CAD annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and relevant qualifications.
