Energy & Marine Consultant
About the Role
In the Energy, Oil & Gas sector, operational continuity, workforce mobility, and client responsiveness are critical to success. As an Energy & Marine Consultant, you will develop trusted partnerships with clients operating across the energy, offshore, marine, renewables, and oil & gas industries.
This client-facing role is focused on delivering a high-touch, consultative service across all travel, crew mobilisation, offshore logistics, and workforce movement requirements. You will act as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio, building strategic relationships, driving client retention, and identifying opportunities that create commercial value, operational efficiency, and client benefit.
Working closely with clients, you will understand their operational challenges, workforce mobility requirements, compliance obligations, and business objectives, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and champion of Reed & Mackay's service and technology solutions.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain strategic client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
- Act as the dedicated point of contact for Energy & Marine clients, delivering a consistently high standard of service tailored to operational and commercial requirements.
- Support complex workforce mobility requirements, including offshore crew rotations, project mobilisation, international travel, visa requirements, and emergency travel arrangements.
- Provide a consultative approach to travel management, crew logistics, duty of care, compliance, reporting, sustainability initiatives, and technology solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand Reed & Mackay's services and recommend specialist solutions that enhance operational efficiency and traveller experience.
- Deliver cost-effective travel solutions while maximising policy compliance, value, and savings opportunities.
- Manage and support air, rail, hotel, and offshore travel bookings, including Energy & Marine fares, one-way fares, split ticketing, reissues, and complex itineraries.
- Monitor bookings for savings opportunities, optimise routings and supplier options, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and client experience.
- Promote collaboration across operational, commercial, technology, and account management teams while supporting client retention and company objectives
What we’re looking for
- Background in Energy, Marine, Offshore, Business Travel, Workforce Mobility, Logistics, Account Management, or a related sector.
- Ideally located in Aberdeen, however a remote worker based in the UK will be considered.
- Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships within a customer-facing environment.
- Strong understanding of offshore operations, crew travel, duty of care, compliance requirements, and workforce mobility.
- A consultative, solutions-focused approach with the ability to provide recommendations that improve operational efficiency, traveller experience, cost control, and programme performance.
- Knowledge of Energy & Marine travel, offshore fares, split tickets, one-way fares, passport and visa requirements, and crew logistics.
- Experience using GDS systems such as Sabre, Galileo, or Amadeus, alongside being fully conversant with Trainline business rail booking system and mixed online/offline booking environments.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, commercially minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing client needs.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and long-term client partnerships.
