What is the role

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader for the Application Experience Developer Experience group. You will be working with the teams that manage and maintain CI, test frameworks, and our data analytics infrastructure. You will be responsible for the Kibana internal development ecosystem, enabling hundreds of engineers to efficiently deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable software.

What you will be doing

  • Identify strategic improvements for developer experience and cost efficiency
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Kibana's build, test and deployment tools and environments
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the data analytics infrastructure
  • Establish engineering productivity key performance metrics
  • Ensure cross functional alignment and advocacy
  • Be a dedicated advocate for standards, software quality and data driven decision making
  • Mentor a team of talented ops, QA, and analytics engineers

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience developing scalable, high performing services and applications
  • Industry experience in JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js
  • Experience and passion for managing CI/CD platforms
  • Experience with database systems, data modeling, and ETL processes (e.g. BigQuery, DBT)
  • Experience using agentic workflows to improve productivity
  • An analytical approach, curious to mine data for answers
  • Results-oriented with a drive to finish work and celebrate success
  • A pragmatic approach, experience balancing the needs of multiple partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a great teammate with strong analytical and problem solving skills

Bonus skills, useful to have

  • Experience using the Elastic Stack and Kibana
  • Experience with various JavaScript build tools and package managers (e.g. Webpack, Bazel, NX, Moon, npm, yarn, pnpm)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience running or significantly contributing to an open source project
  • Experience in Security, Observability, or Search domains
