Observability - Quality Assurance Engineer II

What is The Role

This is a role which will help to lead and shape quality assurance efforts across the Observability line of business, both by defining QA strategy for the organization and by performing a variety of hands-on-keyboard exploratory testing activities.

What You Will Be Doing

• Performing exploratory testing against recent builds of the application and providing feedback to product teams on undesirable behavior. This work may include the configuration and deployment of a wide variety of software platforms and instrumenting them to send data to the Elastic Stack.
• Analyzing testing strategies employed by various teams and recommending specific improvements.
• Coordinating between release management and product teams to determine the fitness of the product prior to release.
• Participating in coordination efforts with other quality assurance teams across the organization to standardize on quality strategy for the company.

What You Bring

• Leading candidates will have experience using Observability tools in production or supporting teams who do. Special attention will be given to those with experience with the Elastic stack.
• While QA experience is helpful for this role, it is not a strict requirement and consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate an understanding of how Observability tools should operate in production environments.
• Above-average writing skills in English and attention to detail are essential for this role
• Successful candidates will possess a mix of creativity and rigorous thinking in order to create and execute test scenarios which stress the product in ways we might not have considered.
