Senior Product Marketing Manager - Portfolio

United States

Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic’s complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI.

What is The Role

Elastic's Portfolio Product Marketing team is seeking a Senior Portfolio Product Marketing Manager — one of the  team's primary operators and one of its most consequential hires. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Product Marketing, this role will transform vision into execution: owning Elastic's portfolio-level story, driving cross portfolio creative initiatives, and ensuring that nothing lives as a strategy deck when it should be in market.
This is a portfolio-level role. You will not own a single product, solution, or use case. You will own the breadth of Elastic's portfilio story — across search, observability, and security — and the narrative platform that ties it together into something the market can understand, remember, and choose.
We are looking for a rare profile: a senior strategist who is also a relentless executor. Someone who has done the work of building positioning and messaging at portfolio scale, who can walk into a room with the CEO and hold their own, and who can write a narrative arc, corporate overview, or keynote storyline with equal facility. You will bring a body of work that demonstrates both the strategic depth and the creative standard this team demands.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Portfolio Positioning & Messaging
    - Own Elastic's portfolio-level positioning and messaging — the architecture that spans search, observability, and security and makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
    - Develop and maintain the master message platform: the POV, proof points, and category language that PR, AR, sales, and the broader marketing organization draw from.
    - Partner with product marketing, analyst relations, and PR to ensure Elastic's category framing is consistent from analyst briefings to press pitches to sales conversations.
  • Go-to-Market Execution
    - Lead the go-to-market narrative for major platform moments — launches, announcements, and strategic pivots — ensuring every asset, audience, and channel touchpoint tells a coherent and compelling story.
    - Serve as the primary operational driver of the Portfolio Product Marketing team: own the editorial calendar, manage cross-functional workstreams, and move projects from brief to delivery with pace and precision.
    - Partner with demand generation to ensure campaigns are anchored in the right portfolio narrative and carry a creative standard that builds brand alongside pipeline.
    - Develop sales enablement materials — narratives, positioning frameworks, competitive guides — that give the field the story and the tools to win.
  • Storytelling & Creative
    - Build and own the portfolio-level story: origin, differentiation, vision, and the human context that makes Elastic's platform feel distinct and worth choosing.
    - Reimagine customer stories from metric summaries into genuine narratives — the kind that make other organizations want what those customers have.
    - Develop thought leadership content and executive POV that earns attention from technical decision-makers and executives and earns Elastic a seat in conversations it is not yet part of.
    - Set and uphold the creative standard for everything the team produces — from keynote narrative to campaign concept to long-form content.
  • Executive & Cross-functional Engagement
    - Work directly with Elastic's senior leadership to develop and refine the executive POV platform — the perspectives, proof points, and frameworks that make the CEO and senior leaders genuinely compelling in press interviews, analyst briefings, and on stage.
    - Build and maintain trusted relationships across product, engineering, sales, demand generation, PR, AR, and events — operating with influence rather than authority and getting great work done through collaboration.
    - Present strategy and creative recommendations to executive stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and conviction.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience in B2B technology, with meaningful time at the platform or portfolio level — you have owned a platform narrative, not just supported one
  • A demonstrable track record of building positioning and messaging that changed how a market described a company or a category
  • Exceptional storytelling ability — on paper, on stage, and in the room — with a portfolio of work that shows both strategic rigor and creative ambition (candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio / examples of past work)
  • Proven ability to work directly with executive leadership: developing their POV, preparing them for high-stakes engagements, and holding your own in senior-level conversations
  • Strong cross-functional operating instincts — you know how to build influence without authority and how to move fast through organizations that are complex
  • Deep fluency in data, search, AI, and enterprise technology — you understand what customers are building with these tools and why it matters at a business level
  • An execution-first orientation: you are the person who makes things happen, not the person who documents the plan and waits for others to act

Bonus Points

  • Building or contributing to a brand narrative or messaging platform from the ground up
  • Working in or alongside a creative strategy, brand, or corporate communications function
  • Developing keynote narratives or executive presentation content for large-scale industry events
  • Competitive strategy or analyst relations in enterprise infrastructure, data, or security markets

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
