WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves working closely with scientific and operational teams to support the execution of technical and cross-functional projects. You’ll play a key role in organizing workflows, tracking deliverables, and facilitating collaboration across internal and external teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to further their project management career and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in a scientific field such as data science, data engineering, clinical trial management, bioinformatics, or computational biology. This position is primarily remote; however, the RefinedScience office is located in Aurora, CO, and the applicant will be expected to be onsite approximately once per week.

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Collaborate with academic partners, clinicians, data scientists, bioinformaticians, non-technical partners, business personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Support planning, coordination, and tracking scientific projects across teams.
  • Help define project scopes, timelines, dependencies, and resource needs in collaboration with principal scientists and business team members
  • Maintain clear documentation of project goals, decisions, risks, and timelines.
  • Facilitate meetings and onsite visits by project teams; capture and follow through on action items.
  • Ensure tasks are clearly defined and tracked in project management tools.
  • Communicate progress and/or blockers proactively to ensure delivery stays on track.
  • Support internal process improvement and team coordination efforts, helping to build repeatable project management best practices.
  • Contribute to preparing scientific and technical documents for both internal and external use.

 

MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong background in technical writing.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, particularly applied to scientific work.
  • Experience working as a team player in collaborative scientific and/or technical environments.
  • Willingness to travel to RefinedScience location (Aurora, CO) approximately once per week.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

 

NICE TO HAVES

  • Proven track record of planning and organization of highly intricate projects/programs.
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) or other training or experience in a scientific or technical field
  • Experience working in early-stage biotech environment
  • Proficiency in standard project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet)

WHAT WE OFFER

  • The target base salary range is annually $90,000 - $115,000.
  • Eligible for competitive discretionary annual bonus and equity compensation
  • Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
