Senior Software Engineer, Product

Austin, Texas, United States

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Product, you’ll sit at the intersection of product, design, and engineering—building experiences used daily by retailers, workers, and internal teams.

This is a product-minded engineering role with a strong frontend focus. You’ll own features end-to-end, shape solutions from concept to launch, and help us move fast without breaking what matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with product, design, and stakeholders to define, build, and ship impactful features
  • Own feature development from architecture → API design → frontend (web & mobile)
  • Build high-quality, user-facing experiences across React (web) and React Native (mobile)
  • Make thoughtful tradeoffs—knowing when to iterate, refactor, or move on
  • Use data and feedback loops to continuously improve what you ship
  • Be a strong teammate on a pragmatic, high-trust engineering team

What We’re Looking For

Technical Experience

  • Frontend: 6+ years of strong experience with React and TypeScript
  • Web & Mobile: Hands-on experience with Next.js, React Native, and GraphQL
  • Backend: 3+ years designing relational data models and APIs
  • Bonus: Experience with Django or Python-based frameworks

How You Work

  • Thoughtful problem solver: You enjoy getting to the root of complex problems
  • Builder’s mindset: Comfortable with both 0→1 builds and iterative scaling
  • Pragmatic & business-aware: You prioritize impact and make smart tradeoffs
  • User-first: You think deeply about how your work affects real people
  • Clear communicator: You explain ideas well and collaborate effectively

Nice to Have

  • CS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in early-stage startups
  • Familiarity with Python, Django, SQL, Heroku, Vercel
  • Passion for modern frontend tooling and best practices
  • Comfortable using LLMs to improve development velocity
  • Exposure to retail, gig-economy platforms, or marketplace products

Problems You’ll Help Solve

  • Optimizing worker acquisition and onboarding funnels using data
  • Building real-time dispatch and matching systems
  • Automating and scaling internal operations tooling
  • Running green-field experiments to unlock new customer value

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity at a stage where ownership can compound materially
  • Full health benefits and a flexible, trust-based unlimited vacation policy.
  • Hybrid work environment with an energetic, collaborative office in downtown Austin, TX

We believe diverse teams build better products. Our users come from all walks of life—and so do we. Reflex is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer, and we welcome candidates from all backgrounds who share our mission to improve retail work.
