District Manager:

No position at Reformation is about the status quo, every team member is passionate about building a company rooted in excellence. Obsessed with technology and using it to create a unique interaction between our employees, customers, and the Reformation brand, the District Manager leads and executes all efforts required to achieve goals in new tech-based concepts, vintage & classic retail stores. 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director of Retail, the District Manager manages a multi-unit portfolio of stores within multiple states, by planning strategies  to achieve each store’s financial, operational and customer-service goals, while addressing each store’s unique strengths and challenges. 
  • Develops diverse teams that know their markets, communities and customers and are engaged with each other, their business and their community. 
  • Serves as a resource by providing expertise on key customer issues, talent acquisition  and management, store operations and company policies and procedures.
  • Regularly visits all store locations within the district (at least once per month) and acts as a liaison between assigned stores and corporate. Communicates store needs.
  •  Creates weekly, monthly, and quarterly action plans to achieve sales and operational goals.
  •  Further develops store employee’s customer service skills  and communication skills through on-going training with Store Manager, in store coaching and training and regular performance assessments.
  • Manages district-level payroll spending via schedule audits, headcount recommendations, and performance management.
  • Regularly audits the stores within the district to ensure compliance with established company policies, procedures, and standards such as human resource practices, store operations, loss prevention and safety, merchandising, marketing and inventory control.
  • Directs Store Managers in solving merchandise presentation challenges utilizing company merchandising guidelines and directives. Makes observations of merchandise needs and relates them to corporate. 
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires Store Managers in the assigned market.  Conducts secondary interviews for Assistant Managers and other key-holding positions.  
  • Ensures that stores comply with applicable federal and/or state laws. 
  • Travel: 60%
  • Based in New York City, Boston or Washington DC 

What You’ll Do:

Sales Generation:

  • Through regular store visits, lead, teach and direct Store Managers in the planning, development, and execution of sales plans and objectives to ensure achievement of sales and profitability. 
  • Ensure the delivery of strong financial performance for the district that meets and exceeds plan (budget) expectations. 
  • The ability to provide a best in class customer experience for our customer that includes great service and an excellent store environment. 

Customer Experience:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support omni-channel initiatives, driving the business as a whole
  • Partner with Customer Love team to understand trends in the business to ensure feedback is heard and actioned on with the appropriate parties, always aiming to enhance the customer experience in Retail
  • Act as brand ambassador - engage customers on the brand, be knowledgeable in this conversation, support training others as needed as an advocate for the brand

Operations:

  • Execute all marketing, merchandising and operating programs to drive sales and profits in all district stores. Ensure all stores meet operational expectations, including but not limited to in-stocks, recovery, store safety and facilities maintenance, and price change notifications. Implement methods to improve efficiencies by achieving high levels of performance. Superior and consistent store conditions. 
  • Manage and communicate P&L for the district  and individual store locations - Own budgets beneath the Retail umbrella (Revenue, Facilities, Logistics, Payroll, Travel, etc.)
  • Manage the district’s facility maintenance, presentation and organization through Service Channel, ADT, purchase management for stores within region

Product & Merchandising:

  • Train, develop, and maintain branded merchandising presentation strategy and concept standards at all times
  • Partner with Director of Retail to ensure each store within the district is reaching quarterly inventory capacity goals and receiving appropriate and relevant product for the market
  • Maintain awareness of current events in region-wide markets, holidays, etc. and communicate to teams consistently to maximize on peak business 

People & Culture: 

  • Strategically position talent for future growth and expansion - Manage bench building within each market for easy transitions and upward mobility
  • Provide performance feedback to ensure growth, change, and results 
  • Lead and support execution of Ref’s annual appraisal process for all employees within the district 
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, professional, healthy, and productive work environment for store teams within a district through contests/activations, culture budgets, recognition programs, strong communication, etc.
  • Partner directly with HR Business Partner to ensure Employee Relations are well-communicated and addressed in a timely and thorough manner

Basic Requirements: 

  • Proven success in driving business results, including meeting or exceeding sales goals and driving growth year-over-year
  • Proven success in employee development and acceleration and in building a positive culture and community
  • 3+ years of retail multi-unit experience P&L, inventory, and operations management to include managing an operating budget. Passionate about customer service and driving a service culture.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • 4 year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • GSuite proficient
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time 
  • Based in New York City, Boston or Washington DC
