About the Team:

The People team is a core enabler of the business, with a true seat at the table and broad visibility across the company. From compensation and benefits to performance and onboarding, the team takes a comprehensive approach to supporting employees and leaders alike. We embed ourselves into departments, understanding needs and shaping the foundational strategies that will help individuals thrive as the company scales. Every challenge is an opportunity to solve for what really matters, with agility, empathy, and creativity.

About the Role:

Benefits Strategy & the Self-Insured Transition

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the move from a fully insured to a self-insured medical plan, partnering with consultants, Finance, and Legal to evaluate financial exposure, plan design, claims projections, etc.
  • Own the plan's ongoing financial and operational performance: claims monitoring, forecasting, utilization analysis, vendor performance, and early identification of cost and risk trends.

Benefits, Wellbeing & Perks Team

  • Build wellbeing and perks programs with clear objectives and measures of success, and regularly evaluate utilization, cost, employee feedback, and market practice to decide where to invest, change course, or discontinue.
  • Lead benefits communications and education so employees understand and use their programs.

Analytics & Financial Management

  • Develop a comprehensive view of benefits performance and establish metrics that show costs and return on investment via financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for significant decisions.

Lead the Leave, Accommodations & Workers' Compensation Team

  • Oversee leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation programs, ensuring they're in compliance with internal policy and applicable laws.

About You:

  • 5+ years of progressive benefits experience with significant ownership of health and welfare programs.
  • Direct experience managing self-insured medical plans is required; leading or playing a major role in a fully insured–to–self-insured transition is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with hands-on experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims, utilization, and healthcare trends, and building financial models and business cases in partnership with Finance.
  • Strong command of plan design, stop-loss, TPAs, PBMs, consultants, and healthcare cost management, plus experience leading complex renewals, implementations, and vendor negotiations.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • A hands-on leadership style, sound judgment balancing employee experience, compliance, and financial stewardship, and the ability to move between strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience directly managing a team and strong working knowledge ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA and ADA.
  • Significant experience with leave, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation programs, and with benefits across multiple populations or sites.

At Relativity Space, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation practices. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

As defined in the ITAR, “U.S. Persons” include U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (i.e., Green Card holders), and certain protected individuals (e.g., refugees/asylees, American Samoans). Please consult with a knowledgeable advisor if you are unsure whether you are a “U.S. Person.”

The person hired will have access to information and items controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), and, therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by those regulations or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license. Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
