Legal Operations Specialist

Relay is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Operations Specialist. Reporting to our General Counsel, this role will provide essential support across various areas of legal operations, including customer contract management, state and local filings, IT-related compliance, record-keeping tasks, and other administrative functions as requested. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
This role is based in our Raleigh, NC headquarters and estimated to work ~16-20 hours per week.
What you will do:
- Customer Contract Support: Assist in the management of customer contracts, ensuring that terms and conditions comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- State and Local Filings: Coordinate and track various state and local regulatory filings and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Compliance & Record Keeping to support our legal team.
- Document Management: Assist in organizing, maintaining, and updating legal documentation, including contracts, corporate records, filings, and compliance reports.
- Research & Reporting: Conduct legal research on state, local, and federal regulations that may impact business operations and compliance.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by the legal department to support operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a legal operations or administrative role.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a legal operations, paralegal, or administrative support role, preferably in a corporate or legal environment.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with contract management, state and local filings, and compliance documentation.
- Prior experience working with confidential, sensitive information
- Knowledge of AI and ability to utilize it in completing tasks is a plus.
- Proficient in Gmail and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with contract management and compliance software.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
