Senior Accountant

We are expanding our Finance team to support this growth and actively hiring for a Senior Accountant. You'll be a key member of the finance team, and be primarily responsible for reconciling and reviewing inventory and COGS accounts, collaborating with other business units on inventory process implementation and process improvement, reconciling and reviewing cash, pre-paids and related expense accounts, providing support and coverage for other team members within the Finance department as necessary, and performing other accounting duties and preparing other balance sheet reconciliations as needed.

This role will be based in our Raleigh, North Carolina HQ and we work in a hybrid model with we work in a hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days (M,W,F) in the office.

What you will do:

  • Perform reconciliations and in-depth analyses of inventory and COGS accounts, collaborating with Supply Chain to implement and improve inventory processes
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly analyses of COGS, shipping, and freight, and present findings to management
  • Partner with Supply Chain in the effort of annual inventory count including preparing and reconciling inventory records
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain in monitoring inventory transactions and performing quarterly inventory valuation analysis (including preparation of LCM and E&O analyses)
  • Reconcile and review fixed assets, including working closely with other departments to ensure accurate capitalization of software in accordance with US GAAP
  • Maintain the integrity of financial accounting records and internal controls related to inventory, COGS, and fixed assets, including the creation and maintenance of process documentation
  • Participate and contribute in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close activities and reporting
  • Provide support to team members on various accounting projects as needed

What you will have:

  • 2+ years of general ledger accounting, public accounting, or relevant experience
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other relevant field
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting/financial processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in an autonomous manner
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Our most competitive candidates have these preferred qualifications:

  • CPA designation or currently pursuing a CPA
  • Experience in accounting for a SaaS company and/or audit experience
  • Experience with NetSuite

The Relay Hybrid Work Model

At Relay, relationships are at the core of everything we do - and this translates to how we approach our customers and our work internally.
