Associate Product Manager

We are expanding our Product Management team to support this growth!

As an Associate Product Manager at Relay, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our AI powered front-line productivity and safety platform. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering teams across both customer-facing products (Relay devices, Web Dashboard, and Mobile App) and internal-facing systems crucial for our Operations and Sales Teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to both product delivery and product discovery, with a clear path for growth into owning the development and lifecycle of key products as you learn our business and product landscape.

This role will be based in our Raleigh, NC headquarters, and you should be interested in working in office. Up to 20% travel to customer sites, prospects, and conferences will be required. 

What you will do

• Support the Product Management Team on key initiatives and projects, contributing to the overall product strategy and roadmap.
• Contribute to the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and research through development, launch, and post-launch analysis.
• Explore and integrate AI capabilities: Proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML to enhance product features, derive deeper customer insights, and optimize product management workflows.

Product Discovery

• Maintain a steady cadence of customer visits and calls to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
• Consistently review analytics to identify areas of opportunity, understand user behavior, and inform product improvements.
• Document, analyze, and prioritize feedback from internal customer-facing teams through consistent meetings and detailed review of feedback channels.
• Conduct solution discovery, trialing new products and features directly with customers to gather insights and validate solutions.

Product Delivery

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and QA to design viable and usable products and ensure timely delivery of features.
• Assist in defining product requirements and user stories for both new features and enhancements.
• Represent the voice of the customer and business to the Engineering team as you collaborate to build features and improve existing products
• Participate in sprint planning and stand-ups, ensuring product goals are clearly communicated and understood by development teams.
• Drive product adoption and training across the organization through clear Release Notes and close alignment with Operations and Sales teams.

What you will bring to this role:

• 1-3 years of experience in Product Management, preferably within an enterprise software or SaaS environment.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related technical or business field.
• A strong blend of business and technical acumen, with the ability to engage meaningfully and add value in discussions encompassing both technology and business strategy.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies: A keen interest in staying abreast of cutting-edge technologies, particularly within the AI and real-time data space, and identifying how they can create new value for users.
• A passion for entrepreneurship with the ability to thrive and react proactively to changing business needs within a dynamic, high-growth startup environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with customers.

The Relay Hybrid Work Model

At Relay, relationships are at the core of everything we do - and this translates to how we approach our customers and our work internally. Our relational approach is also at the heart of why we ask all Relayers in our hybrid model to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
